    Ghost question
    Hi!
So, I know that there are various lines of ghost, like orange, green, the bell line, etc., but what I don't know is which ones are compatible and which aren't? Also, when people say a snake is "Het hypo", that means it's a form of ghost, but which one do people usually mean? I read that if someone says "hypo" they usually mean an orange ghost because it is so common. When I try to google it I mostly see people asking if hypo is ghost. I've also seen, on worldofballpythons.com, there is just a "ghost". What would that be? There are just too many terms and I'm so confused. I hope this post even makes sense.
    Thanks for your help~

i don't work with much Hypo stuff, but I can answer your question on the Het stuff, Hypo lines are recessive traits. Het means Heterozygous, meaning it has the Hypo trait in it but needs a second Het trait to be bred to it to make the trait visible. Some Hets have markers like the Pied BPs but I'm unaware of the Ghost lines having any.

Only the g1 and gulf coast reptile lines have been proven incompatible to my knowledge, everything else is compatible. Hypo and ghost are two words for the same thing and can be interchanged

If I got one that was sold as "het hypo", I could get any kind of ghost aside from the two you said, and I should get ghosts and hets, but not double hets?

The most commonly worked with lines Orange Ghost, Butterscotch, and Bell are compatible.

Exactly, if you got a Hypo and het Hypo you should get in theory half of the clutch Hypos and the other half 100% het Hypos. But if you have great odds, you could get all Hypos.

The Green Hypo/Ghost is not compatible with the Orange/Butterscotch/Yellow lines.

As in won't take after breeding, or produces deformed young?

If it is not compatible, it means that breeding a Green Ghost (Hypo) to an Orange Ghost (Hypo) will produce normal looking babies that are het for both Green Ghost (Hypo) and Orange Ghost (Hypo).

If the lines are compatible, breeding then together will produce a visual of the gene (in this case, the Hypo gene).
