Case of retained sperm? Plus other things.
1) I bred a fire bee to a super pastel het g stripe and got this:

I can't figure out what I have. Is this a case of retained sperm from last year (pewter plast x super pastel het g stripe)?
2) I also got the following, can you guys help me with ID?
Pewter blast x mojave:

Pewter blast x albino:

3) Lastly, I have removed all eggs and babies from the main snake room, and treated the main snakeroom for mites. I will need to put them back at some point. Is it safe to treat neonates enclosures with permethrin 0.25% and let it dry for 24 hours before putting them back? Or should I just spray the OUTSIDE of the enclosure? The thing I am using is Biokill (can not import PAM legally here) and I have treated captive hatched african babies enclosures (tub and substrate) with a few meals in them already with no ill effects, but what about neonates just after first shed?
Thanks.

Your first two clutches really are confusing. Could you post pictures of each of the parents of the clutches? Also, individual pictures of the babies, especially after they shed, would be really helpful.
Both Clutch 1 and 2 look like they could have an extra Fire or Sulfur gene floating around.
Clutch 3 looks to be a normal, Pinstripe, Cinnamon, and Cinnamon Pinstripe all het for Albino
-
same for me , it s really confusing. first i don t see any spiders in the first clutch. 3 superflies, 1 firefly, 1 superpastel, 1 fire pewter. 3 black eyes lucies.... with extra genes for sure: cinnamon and pastel will be my guess.
clutch 2 is even more crazy: 1 pastel, 1 chainsaw, 1 savannah , 1 savannah fire ???, 1 pewter( fire maybe), 1 lemon blast (ghost looking or dragon fly), 1 pinstripe.

I'll post pics of the parents when I get home, but I am pretty sure they are what they are. I've been getting really weird stuff from this fire bee male. Last year, I got this from the same pairing (fire bee x super pastel het g stripe):

But now even the other pairing is making weird stuff...

You think those are black eyed lucys? There is faint patterning on some parts. Could it be a sonnet ball? Could it be a double sired clutch with this year and last year's males? I still can't work it out.

my god!!!! this guys is so wierd: did you contact white wash owners or the other line of white paradox from mike willbanks. seems to be a firefly bee white wash.....
you are so lucky man. your three white snakes could be extreme white wash.... anyway you gonna need some more years to figure out whats going on....
crazy project you have here.
-
Well, the sire fire bee, which looks just like a normal fire bee, WAS from Mike Wilbanks stock, though it changed hands once through a distributor before me. None of the females were from him though.
I never even heard of whitewash. Will look it up.
-
send close picture of all your new hatchling you could have low expression white wash (atomic)
-
Those three white snakes, the clutch has what looks like a pewter. So it could be retained sperm? Or double sired clutch? If whitewash was recessive, what would be an extreme whitewash? As any visual whitewash would already be homozygous, there can't be a "super" whitewash.
-
I'll take pics tonight. Are they worth at least 10 billion? Because if they are, I'm still not going to sell them anyway. :)
And what is with the second clutch? The fire bee has nothing to do with that clutch.
Hopefully someone can answer my mite treatment question.

These clutches are insane. I don't even know what they all are. Can't wait to see the parents

i guess it s a multi sired clutch but this is not what s important here. you should contact mike willbanks as your fire spider come from his stock and your snakes are atomic combo like. the black eyes leucy will need more than anyone expertise to figureout for sure whats going on
-
What would I ask him? Just "are these whitewash/atomic"? Visually it looks more like nuyten line whitewash than atomic to me? Or perhaps something different altogether?
Could the white snakes be sonnet balls?

mike willbanks doesn t work with white wash but with atomic , for sure he will be able to tell u if it s atomic or not. for the sonnet ball : i don t know.
-
Yeah where is this atomic stuff? I haven't seen any update on it.
And OP, whatever is going on, the results like pretty dang cool. :gj:
