    New Rats...colors?
I'm going to try my hand at breeding. Again and got a few rats I'm raising up to be breeders. If you know what color/pattern they are, let me know as Id like to breed for different genes.

Weird. I'm able to see them. I had to post them using my cell phone but I am able to see them on my laptop.

Thanks. I used to breed for colors a long time ago and I've forgotten most of the genes. I think the two darker ones are Berkshires but please someone correct me if I'm wrong. Chu is an PEW dumbo, but I'm not sure about Mordichai. (I'm sure I'm spelling his name wrong....my boyfriend named him). Serenity looks like an agouti and her belly is white so maybe she's Berkshire too? I have no idea.

Looks like an albino, mink, agouti and blacks. Can't be 100% sure without peds tho, but they're fairly close guesses.

Thanks bettagurl. What kind of genetics are behind a mink? And any ideas on the wavy fur?

The wavy fur is rex. :)
Albino, mink, agouti, black, black. That's your colors. The mink could be beige. It's hard to tell in the lighting. ;)

Thank you. I will look up Mink and find out more about the genetics.

Can you get pictures of their stomachs? From above, it's impossible to tell if they're self, irish, or berkshires.

Chu: Alibno dumbo, like you said.

Mordichai: He seems like a cocoa or mink hooded. (See: http://www.afrma.org/ratselfs.htm#chocrat )

    Serenity: Agouti rex.

    Firefly: Black

    Rigby: Black rex

When breeding them, you will get mostly albinos, black and agoutis. I personally would breed Chu and Serenity to Rigby and try to get some double rexes, and some dumbo rexes. Depending on what genetics Chu is hiding, they can have albinos, blacks, ect. Albino hides the true color of the rat, so without knowing their genetics, there's no telling what may pop up. Breeding Serenity and Rigby would give you all agoutis and blacks.

Firefly, Rigby, and Serenity all have white splotches on their bellies so I believe that makes them Berkshires (isn't the Irish only on the chest?). When I compare Serenity to a new agouti hooded rex that I got, she is a different color than agouti. I can try to get pictures of them both side by side for comparison. I will also be posting pics of the two new girls I got this week. One is an agouti hooded rex. The other we are not sure about.

Here are the two new girls, Rukia and Orihime.

Orihime up close. We really have no idea what she is, color-wise.
