They Finally Pipped !!!!

They finally started to pip on day 59 :gj:( incubated @ 89* ). I cut the openings larger to get better look at them and was pleasantly surprised to see the Banana was the Sire of the clutch.
I had also paired a Pastel Vanilla male and a Enchi Pastel ( never actually see the Pastel Enchi lock with the female ). This is my first ever clutch and the first for the Sire and Dam. It was the longest 59 days
ever !

Thank You, Hopefully with a bit of luck I'll be able to pair one of the Banana's back with the mom this season to produce a Banana Pied!

Only recessive traits can have hets. Banana is not a recessive trait. :)

I did some short quick reading on Bananas. For the OP to get Banana pieds from a male Banana, will they only be males, because the sire is a male Banana?

Yeah this is usually the case with a male maker Banana but not 100% of the time. A friend of mine bred a Banana male ( male maker ) x Normal female last season and got one female Banana out of the clutch.
We've also noticed when pairing parents with multiple genetic morphs with the Banana gene the odds of getting a female Banana increase.

All the hatchlings have shed and are in their own tubs now. After they settle in and take a meal I'll post up some pics.
Dont want to stress them out too much. Now I just needed to master sexing them :gj:

Congratulations! That is a really nice project. Banana Hypo Pieds would be awesome. Long road, but great potential.

yeah, generally speaking a male maker makes mostly male banana's and a lot of times every animal in the clutch that isn't Banana is a female BUT

the breeder I got my banana from had 7 clutches sired by his male maker banana and he hatched 3 female Banana's, he told me that in each of the clutches where there was a female banana 1 of the none bananas was a male (he doesnt know if that means anything yet but it sure was interesting to me)

and like Black06gt said often female banana's also have other gene's in them like pinstripe or spider,
