What to get next? New tank pickup!
Hi guys! I just scored this awesome exoterra from goodwill for $10. It's in awesome shape, just needs to be cleaned up.

I just don't know what to put in it! I already 2 ball pythons and a young brb.

I really want a Mexican black kingsnake but the musking freaks me out a bit.

I'm thinking about a crested or leopard gecko but I'm not sure!! I just can't decide.

    Help!

It's tempting but I don't think that's the best setup for one! My other two are in tubs and it keeps them perfectly.

    Congrats on the sweet deal!

I'm sure you won't have any problems filling it.

Perhaps a crested gecko? I've never kept them so I'm not sure what dimensions their enclosures need to be, but it might be something you could look into. It looks a little tall, and too short (length wise) for a leopard gecko.

Good point about the leopard gecko. A Crested is on the table.

Still can't stop thinking about the black kingsnake. They're just so beautiful.

If that's what you want, and that enclosure will work, I'd say go for it! Btw, what goodwill are you going to?? Never found anything like that at my local ones!

In Sarnia, Ontario. My mom's the store manager so I'm there all the time. Just happened to catch it and scooped it right up!

Lucky you! Lol. I'll have to start looking more often. Really cool that you found one there!

The musking isn't a big deal! It's a little messy and stinky, but once they become comfortable with you and mellow out, it's not nearly as often. Just when they are uncomfortable/scared. I'd also loooove a MBK, they're so pretty! Nothing hotter than a pitch black snake, haha.

Exactly!! They're gorgeous. I just don't know if I can handle the musking! If it happened, I might not want to hold it again lol

Ahh! I'm leaning toward it! I've been researching them and from everything I've read, they're pretty bitey. I might need to handle one first before deciding. Hopefully I can get to an expo in the fall.

That's why they musk, so you won't bother it. Most young snakes will poop when you pick them up as a deterrent because they think you are a predator.

I am really glad that has never happened with my three. I probably just jinxed myself though!
