papercut??

When i had Apollo out tonight, i noticed he has a sort of cut on him. his scales are sliced in half, and it looks like he got a papercut or something. is it possible for snakes to get a papercut from newspaper?? it didnt look like there was blood anywhere, and it doesnt seem to bother him. could this be something to worry about?

Cupid had those, but his were horizontal. i was told it might be a burn.

it's definately not a burn. his scales are actually cut, and its not red or anything.

Ive seen them on roxy, its on a few of her scales.

Are you sure that's not his "umbilical cord" section?

Could it be some kind of belly button ? ive heard something about snakes belly buttons ????

haha...Shlyne, you're right. Pandora's isnt as noticable though. maybe it's because Apollo is still a baby?? i feel like an idiot. i was all worried he cut him self. :?

Yeah, Pelota has that too. I think it's from their umbilical cord thingy. Don't they have to sit in the egg when they hatch and "soak up" the rest of the insides of the egg or something? Maybe that has something to do with it. But yeah, I think that's normal. I'm sure I've seen it on Pelota previously.

My girl has it too, about _______ long. It's from being connected to the yolk sac in the egg. Kind of like an umbilical cord.

Yup, Bela and Ashes have those things too. Goblin is a big adult and therefore I see none on him. I geuss it must disappear as the snake ages, presumably with each shed...?
