    Babies are pipping!
Wow, am I ever happy to see some healthy heads sticking out. After our first clutch all hatched deformed ( http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...med-hatchlings ), I'm way too happy to see normal little heads poking out of this one. Day 59 here at 88.9 degrees. I think we hit two BEL's that aren't out yet.

Well I could have sworn I saw two BEL's, but now as they pip I only see one! Either there's twins or I was just seeing things earlier. Pairing was Queen Bee x Lesser

Almost all the babies are out, and they are FAT! So happy to have nice healthy, chubby hatchlings. Looks like we have 3 Pastel Lessers, 1 Lesser, and 1 BEL. Anyone wanna confirm?

    Thanks!

:w00t: YEAH!!! I have a special place for Butter Pastels (Lesser Pastels) - it was the first morph I owned. Nice size on those little ones too. :gj:

In my amateur opinion, I think you've ID'd them correctly.

    Thanks everyone!

    Two questions:

1.) Normal for the BEL to have red pupils? And are her scales okay? Look a little roughed up or something.

2.) Did temps cause this little kink? We didn't have any fluctuations to our knowledge :confusd:

I don't know about the eyes. I would think that because you used a black fabric is caused that. My Bels scales always seems to do that when its been in a position for long periods of time. I guess kinda like when you see wrinkles impressed in your face when you sleep on a pillow. And as for the kink I'm not 100% sure. But they say it's just genetics

But what i find most interesting is the only way im aware of to make a black eyed lucistic is with 2 fire gene snakes, and neither of the snakes you bred were fire or morphs involving fire.

    Re: Babies are pipping!
Thanks everyone! Pairing was Lesser Pastel Spider x Lesser. Regarding the Blue Eyed Lucy, some breeders think the Pastel and/or Spider in it could be altering the eyes, and another breeder said they'll turn blue after its first shed, so we'll see! I can't capture what her eyes look like in person. They're a dark stormy speckled grey with red pupils. In pictures they just look pitch black. We don't have a nice camera to do a close up.

    Congrats on some beautiful hatchlings!!

I've always been curious about what happens with BELs when u stack other genes on top. If there's spider in there I wonder what would show under an ultraviolet light.

Please keep us updated! Way cool!
