Did you breed her? She looks as if shes rolled over to warm the other side of the eggs (mostly pregnant snakes do this)

    no,

I haven't bred her, she is only about 1350 grams

Could be parthogenic. Reptiles and amphibians can asexually reproduce from time to time.

    yeah but...

I mean she is only a 2014 hatchling..

and do "pregnant"bp's not stop eating? she hasn't skipped a meal ever and even ate last week

Laying inverted does not necessarily mean pregnant. Sometimes they just lay that way. Males do that as well.
Side note: nice size for a 2014 hatchling!

Agreed, nice sized girl for that age! Very pretty too.

I saw my 700g mojave bee girl lying inverted once. It freaked me out a little too, since I knew it was a pregnant snake thing, and she certainly should not be pregnant... :colbert:

Assuming that parthenogenesis isn't to blame (which is a possibility)...
I would keep an eye on her, and if she doesn't exhibit the behavior again, chalk it up to "snakes are weird".

    yeah thanks,

I guess that is what you get when you have a girl that never skips a meal ;)

she is still laying like this, guess i'll leave her be for the moment but if she lays like that in 2 hours still i'll take her out and sort of feel her belly see if i can feel something strange

I would be ready to get an incubator ready if she does this again. Sometimes they are just weird but... It is possible.

I have a pied girl who lays this way after every feeding, (about 1-2 days after) And aswell for Eating during building eggs, all snakes are different i have some who ONLY eat around breeding season. and fast all the way until they meet a male.

Gotta get that "bikini body" to attract the boys! (I'd love to see a snek in a swimsuit)

thanks, well it was last monday that she ate so that is already a week ago,

I guess I just have to keep an eye on her, I just weighed her to get an exact weight and she is 1344 grams,

also i tried to palpate her but I didnt feel anything, I have to say though, I never palpated a bp before...

She is feeling neglected with the arrival of two awesome Lil ladies and this is her cry for attention.
Easy solution. . Send new enchi and normal het clown to me, and her behavior will return to normal. :gj:

    haha HELL NO!!!

and she knows she is my favourite!

I know people sell animals cause they have a "better" animal but even when i get a more gene animal with the same gene's + more I wont sell her! If I for some reason had to sell off al my BP's and only get to keep 1, she is the one!

BUT since I dont have to sell any, they will ALL stay here :D

My girl did that just before she ovulated. That was the first time she did that then she did it at least once a week until she laid. My normal girl was doing that just before I left for work. So I agree with everyone else, I'd get an incubator ready just in case

Laying inverted does not just apply to gravid girls. I have had males do it and virgin females. I know it freaked you out though, because it freaked me out the first time I saw one of mine do it. :)

Hey, I haven't seen a ovulation, I do know just because I didn't see one it doesn't mean she didn't but I usually take a look at her every day ;)

Yeah you better believe it freaked me out!

I'm just a really cautious person when it comes to my animals that's why I suggested an incubator, better safe than sorry and if you don't end up needing it you've got it for when you do need it lol, beautiful snake by the way

    her temps are fine,

was the first thing I checked after I saw her on her back,

I also asked this question in a Dutch/Belgium ball python facebook group where where some people (including experienced breeders) told me to try and place a male with her, I was like, really? they said yeah, she is still eating she will get the needed weight and if she doesn't wanna go she wont.

but more of that in a new thread in the breeding section of this forum

Re: What??.. Why?? is she doing this?? (I am freaking out a little)
AR, I've seen my 2014 pastel girl lay that way several times in the recent past. She is in a rack with the ambient temp at 84f with the hot spot at 90f. She seems to do it randomly and I just thought it was a comfortable position for her. I know she has never been bred bc I raised her from a hatchling and now she is pushing 1000gms. Never misses a meal, healthy and one of the best feeders I have. So that inverted position may just be one of comfort for her. Have you had her since she was a hatchling or did you purchase her as a adult?

I have her since she was 71 grams :)
