Meet Lady Abigail!

Hi everyone! I've been cruising the forum for a looong time... Doing my prebuy research and searching up all the answers to new BP owners panic questions... but I've never actually posted. Until now!

Meet Lady Abigail, my pretty little pinstripe!
(She is actually my second BP, my first being a goofball of a spider, Delilah. I just don't have many pictures of Big D without her snuggled into my bfs chest hair and I figured I'd spare you those lovely shots.)

Abby is honestly the sweetest reptile I have ever had the chance to handle. Docile, curious, cuddly... (I know shes probably pressing so close because she likes my warmth but dont burst my bubble!) She even seems to genuinely enjoy having her head stroked. The fact that she actually rests her head in my hand while I pet her gently with my thumb makes me believe she's not just "tolerating" it. I'm just so happy with her personality that I had to share her with other people who understand what I'm talking about, without putting up with the snakes-have-no-personality smirk.

She sounds like an absolute sweetheart! <3 And so cute, too! How long have you had her?

Thank you! I've had her for just under a month. When I picked her up I was under the impression she was 2015 hatching since she's so darn small, but the breeder swears up and down that she's from sept of '14. She's only 200gs but the vet says she's just dainty. (My spider was more than twice her size at this age) I'm absolutely head over heels in love and think she's just perfect, so perfect that I can overlook the fact that she only voids herself while I'm holding her. Brat.

Welcome to the forum.

Shes pretty i have a lil 145g pinstripe female as well
All of my snakes love to have there heads rubbed as well
Even have a few that just like to chill and lay on my chest all sprawled out
Each one of mine have unique personalities

She does enjoy feeding day! That's an understatement, she's one of those snakes that launches herself at the rat before I get it even close to the bottom of the cage! And Abby would thank you all for your praise.... if she could comprehend it... so I'll say thanks instead ;)

And thank you for your warm welcome. Even though I've been cruising the boards for answers to all of my panic moments for a very very very long time, actually speaking with you guys is much more pleasing than just stalking around the boards, let me tell you. [emoji3]

Goofy girl was so eager she launched herself at this one mid air, so she spent a bit of time trying to find the head.

That's exactly what's going on in that little he'd xD She poked at it with her nose for a good few minutes before rolling it over and doing it right lol

She's a pretty little lady. I actually appreciate the feeding post, I was gonna ask how she was doing with that :gj:

She's doing great other than having a bit of trouble deciding what end she wants to start on lol I only feed f/t and I do warm the heads but she coils for so long that I guess it cools before Shes ready. I've still got her on an every 5 day feeding, I'd like to see her up her weight a bit.

:gj: I did every 4 days until my girl hit 400 grams then every 5 right now. Sometimes they will eat them backwards, but usually they figure it out OK :rolleyes: Silly serpents

4 days, huh? Maybe I'll start that routine. She's so darn small! She'd starting to get some length to her finally but shes as skinny as a string bean.

This is Abigail's "focusing" face. I was having a real hard time getting her to sit still and thought I'd caught a break only to find out she was just... focusing on doing her business on my lawn.
