Wouldn't count on anything from petco being het anything. Just because a snake has markings like that on its tail doesn't mean much (at least 3 of mine look just like that and certainly have no pied in them). Was the other listed as a chocolate? The darkness/donut patterns are interesting and could be a sign of it, but I'm still hesitant unless it was labeled as such. Pet stores mostly get their stock from breeder surplus, and I have a hard time thinking a breeder would carelessly let something slip thinking it was just a normal.

Thanks guys I appreciate the responses to my noob inquiries.

I'm getting better at popping so I'll try that before deciding to get them.

I still can't get the hemipenes to pop on my male snakes but I start to see red I call it male. A female pastel I got at repticon is looking male. :/

Recently a store got in several thousand CH balls from Africa and we were all there dinking around. I picked 4 odd looking ones myself. I am pleasantly surprised by how good eaters they are.

Also, a few friends who has seen one of them kept asking me what morph it was. So fun.

That dark one you have is DEFINITELY worth dinking around with. Looks AWESOME.

One of the first breeding projects I want to work on is developing line bred high contrast albinos. That dark snake could be a step in the right direction.

Hey J&A I bought a normal from Petsmart bc I liked the way it looked and I sexed it when I got home. It was a female. I bought a pastel from Petco and they wouldn't allow me to sex it in the store so I did it when I got home. Female.

hungba, both my normal and pastel that came from Petsmart and Petco respectively are the best feeders in the rack and have been for over a year and a half now.
