Woman Finds 12 Foot Python In Home

The picture from this article popped up on my Facebook feed, and I got all excited thinking it was someone asking for a catch and relocate job. Bummer! But still a cool news story. Is this a Burm or retic? I'm fairly new to id'ing the giants.

I don't have much experience with the Giants either but in the pic it looked like a burm. But the article said it was an African python so it could be an African Rock Python. Did you read the comments though there where a ton of people hating on snakes saying they would have killed the animal "monster" as some called it. Crazy

Yeah, I decided to go with NOT reading the comments, for that reason. And I don't trust news stations to correctly identify snakes like that. They've been calling all kind of snakes around here cottonmouths, when, most the time, they are harmless water snakes. But I am going to Google the rock python real quick. Lol!

African Rock. Kudos to the lady who found it for calling appropriate people for help. Thumbs down for the snake's keeper and all the idiot commenters who think all snakes should be killed on sight.

Dora Dorsey anything when it comes to snakes please just please stop posting Burmese pythons are not going to ever reach California they are limited to a couple of places that they can even survive Florida and one place in Texas. In another post you stated how they are going to move all across the United States. Just stop you don't know what you are talking about you read a few partial stories on the web and OMG everything reported online is true right!!!) So now you think you are a Humane Society spokes person who btw don't know what they are talking about 99.9% of the time anyway but please keep giving them your money so no animals will be saved but they will lead a fine life and have the funds to keep fighting a battle that has nothing to do with animals. Drop the temperature below 40 or even 50 and see how well the Burmese do....Next up Snakes do not feed based on size vs hunger, they eat what they can catch. Do you really think a snake thinks to itself I am so hungry I will eat a person? Sorry but they are not the evil conniving creature you want people to believe they are but simply a predator that feeds when they need to and not on prey that is to large for them to eat.

Oh sweet lord... I know it's pretty well known that ignorance is the worst enemy of the snake-keeping hobby, but this is ridiculous. Did they not cover biology in the schools these people went to?

Actually probably not, science classes are the next thing to get cut right after music and art. But heaven forbid they cut football or anything. One of my highschool biology classes was actually taught by the football coach. And no, he was not a biology teachers who also coached football, if that tells you anything.
