spider or butter??

Wondering which to choose from...your opinions please?

As a pet? Spider. One of my favorite single-gene morphs, and if the wobble doesn't bother you, it adds some personality. :)

Kitacat, do you mind posting a pic of your spider ?

Maybe you should do some more research about the morphs your looking at. Wobble is a trait that is very common in the spider morphs, and can be a put off to some people interested in these morphs. It has been discussed numerous times in the forms, use the search feature.

Butter all the way. They are my favorite morph.

As mentioned above, wobble is an issue associated with the morph and it's been discussed a bunch in the forums.

To me it's a toss up. I would get both. If you can only get one get a female spider. They cross well with other morphs, if you decide to get into breeding. Butters are nice to. Ball pythons are like potato chips you can't have just one.

Spider. I don't mind the spider wobble.

I have both. .01 Butter and 1.0 fire spider. My spider is funny how he twists his head upside down. Just something you need to accept for what it is. They are special in their own way. Like many on here I couldn't just have one.

I vote spider. The wobble is pretty cute and I think spiders age way better than butters. :) Though, if you look at the adult butter and like the browning / greying that happens, than it's up to you!

I just watched several videos and it made me feel so conflicted. Like, on one hand I want to get one and name it Derp but then part of me is so sad that they are born with this :/ does it decrease their life expectancy?

Keep in mind that the videos you see on Youtube are almost always the most severe wobblers you'll find. I had never seen the wobble until I got my spider, and then I was curious so I looked it up as well. I was shocked by the corkscrewing I saw - Varys does nothing like that!

So that's essentially the worst case scenario, and it doesn't seem to be that common for it to be so severe.

I would vote on butter/lesser as a single morph but i love spider combos too. My killer spinner has no real wobble. It's hard to only have one I have 8 now and my list of ones to get grows longer all the time.

I have a Butter Spider 0.1. One year old this month. This is my first ball python so I wasn't to familiar with the wobble prior to owning. I don't think it's too bad. The head upside down exploring definitely adds character. Only issue I've noticed is striking her food is a bit off at times. Sometimes takes 2-3 strikes before connecting. And kind of funny after she misses she kind of retreats like embarrassed or something.
