Got my first pied from local her shop
Personally I'm a huge fan of low white pieds with lots of pattern and when I saw this guy at the local herp shop I couldn't leave him behind. Exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks guys! Now I just need to get a pastel het pie lady for him or fork over the dough for a pastel homozygous pie female.

Got him home and out of the tub. He is super chill, not shy at all and very healthy. Has a bit of retained shed on one eye but that will fix on his next shed.

The more I look at it the more I feel like this is a leopard pied.

That was my first thought, that it looked gnarly like the leopard pieds

That was my first impression too. Then I said oh, maybe blizzard pied? Anyway, fantastic choice and even better price!:gj:

I agree. The pattern on the pieds, just normal ones, look really cool. The white patches are awesome too, but in moderation. Beautiful snake! Jealous!

Awesome glad I'm not alone on that thought. Only recently started keeping ball pythons again in late march. Before that all I had was a couple normals and a pastel in 2008 but never bred them.

Can't wait to breed this guy and see if it proves to have leopard in him. That will make his price even more of a steal.

I looked up a blizzard and that's an all white albino snake?

The price is another big reason I couldn't leave him at the herp shop. They have a female pastel butter I want too with a cheap price on her.

Yup its a shame that they won't always produce low pied offspring from what I've read.

Thank you, and I agree 100%. So what are your thoughts about this possibly having leopard mixed in?

I read that the leopard gene originally came from pieds and originally people thought the two were linked.

Nice pied! Low white pieds are awesome, I also have a low white that quite a few people on here thought has leopard as well. Good luck in your future pairings with him.

Thank you! You have a stunner as well. I just checked out that thread, and I'm hoping you get some high pattern lightning pieds!

Thanks! Unfortunately I believe two of the eggs have gone bad and another might join as well, the last one has good veins and looks good so I'm hopeful haha

Might have to make an offering of rodents to the snake odds gods.

Was it from a breeder or reptile store? Any mites? Is it in quarantine?

I got it from a reptile store, and looked it over very well before buying him, no signs of mites.

He is not in quarantine, however I do sanitize my hands between maintenance or handling on each snakes enclosure.

He is deep in shed today.

When I got him I felt like he had already begun a shed cycle, so I am interested to see if he will look any different from day one.
