Fun with a wrapped cord.... again

Just a few quickies on how we helped this little LemonBlast survive today ;)

Sorry my hands were in the way for the better part of the first video, but shooting from a tripod by myself is not the preferred method.

That was amazing. How do they separate themselves from the yolk naturally? Does it normally just fall off?

It normally absorbs, but when it becomes wrapped around their body inside the egg, death is a likely possibility. All that happened here was that this little girl did not gain the 5-10g that she would have absorbed from her yolk.

I see. So when they hatch, there is usually no yolk showing. But when there is it needs to be cut like that? What is going to happen to the bit that you left on, will that absorb?

I've never seen that done so that was pretty awesome. This is why I love this forum... There's always something new to learn and see. Thanks for sharing that experience Corey.

Good post, thank you! You're hands were obsuring a lot of the first video but you explained well enough that it wasn't that big of a deal. It was cool to see no blood when you cut the cord. When I get to breeding, if I encounter this issue, I won't be afraid to do the same thing.

She FINALLY shed tonight. Has been eating just fine and has taken 4 meals so far.
