Nice looking boa. What substrate do you have her on? I've used several things for mine and they like the walnut hull bedding and sani chips best.. They're great burrowers and it is fun to watch them in their tubs.

One word of caution. Be careful when spot cleaning her tub . They are ambush predators and I've had one of mine "ambush" my pinkie finger when I was removing poop from her tub.. Now I make sure I know where she is in the tub before spot cleaning.

    Good luck with her.

    She is on coconut fiber

OK.. Just make sure she can tunnel well in it and that it is not too humid. They do not like very humid conditions. The only time I use coconut fiber or moss is in a humid hide when mine go into shed. A lot of KSB keepers also use blasting sand for their boas.

I've had a pair of these for a few years now, I like them so much I recently picked up a few more. Het albino, het axanthic and one that's striped. I keep mine on aspen

Lol, ambushed your pinkie finger. The mental image of that is hilarious to me for some reason. And they remind me of the tremors worms too, I knew it was something but I couldn't place it lol.

Yeah.. I was not very smart... I was cleaning her cage at night and didn't pick her up fist to "wake" her up like I usually do. I guess the motion + heat + night time + rodent smells from her own poo is what got me. There were exactly 2 drops of blood.. and didn't hurt at all.

The nuclear meltdown and nuclear meltdown albinos are amazing.. I want some so badly but can't afford them lol (they are nuclear / dodoma crosses). I got my nuclear female from scott miller and he works with many other morphs too.

    Paul's Pieds
    Re: Got a sand boa
I have been bitten by those little buggers more than anything else i have ever kept and i disagree. It can hurt. They are beautiful though and nothing quite like them.

Paul's pieds- She wasn't fully grown at that point and she didn't wrap / coil... Maybe I got lucky? Now that she is right at 3', I make sure that I pull her out of the aspen first to get her out of feeding mode.
