    New to the reptile world
    Hey All

Checking in from Northern California as I have acquired my first Ball Python from my SO (Birthday present) and decided to introduce myself here. My first reptile was a crested gecko, and now I have extended my collection to Ball Pythons after much research. My SO got her ball about a year ago (shes a member here also) and convinced me to get one as well. Her ball is about 1000g while my little girl is barely 120g but thanks to her I was able to dial in her husbandry without any hassle (she is feeding well on rat fuzzies atm). Anyhow, I'm excited for her as she is my first snake (wont be last for sure) and I am glad there is such a helpful community as this to share this experience with! :D

Oh and here is a picture of the noodle :snake:

Nice first BP. They grow incredibly fast. In 4 months, that little worm will become a fat small rat eating bottomless stomach.

I'm more southbay so temps are pretty cold! I'm struggling to keep ambient temps up without an overhead heat source. Going to most likely set up an overhead heat lamp (in red or blue of course) to help bring up ambient temps a little bit. My SO built a tub style enclosure for me so humidity isn't an issue. On the other hand, my crested gecko enclosure needs to be misted sometimes up to 3 times a day to keep up with humidity requirements. Great thing about snakes are the husbandry challenges that make the hobby exciting!

    Thanks!

Definitely much further down south than you (San Jose). I work in Redwood City, but even then, that's pretty far. San Diego is beautiful, (I lived there for 2 years during college). That weather you simply can't beat!
