    Vanilla or pastel vanilla??
I'm picking this girl up next week and was wondering what everyone thought of it. The seller says it's a vanilla but may have pastel also

I do not think she is a vanilla at all. She does not have the blushed head like vanillas have. Personally I think it is only a pastel.

Here is a picture of my vanilla, see the blushed head. All the pastel vanillas I have seen also have the blushed head and are usually more bright of a yellow. I really doubt that it is a vanilla at all and is only a pastel.

I don't see a pastel vanilla, head blushing isn't there.
I am also not a huge vanilla fan but all I see is a nice vanilla. :gj:

Looks like a pastel to me too. Vanilla can be hard to detect sometimes but I don't see a lot of blushing on that head.

Personally if I was picking it up I would want it to be obvious to me the genes going on in the animal. To me I don't see pastel vanilla.

I too agree that it doesn't appear to be Vanilla. Here are two Vanilla girls of mine from different breeders and you can see the head blushing. Also the one in the picture you posted looks to be browning out like a Pastel.

I would pass as it doesn't appear to be the morph the Seller is saying it is. Too me, any morph worth adding to my group should leave me with no doubt as to it's genetics. That's just my $0.02.

That is without a doubt at least an enchi

I'm actually only seeing enchi. I don't see enchi vanilla, or vanilla pastel, or any other 2-gene combo. You should request pics of the parents.

    I see Enchi...

Which would worry me if the seller doesn't even know that

Im a little disappointed, I really don't need another enchi and I promised to meet this guy next week. I really should have asked earlier, but I took his word for what it was. Im not very familiar with vanilla but I did want to pair her to my fire next year.

Immediately saw Enchi, and only Enchi. Looks pretty bad on the part of the breeder... They don't have any idea what this snake actually, and obviously, is?

I didn't know either, it looks busier than both of my enchis that's why I didn't think it was.

What about the other snake I posted. What would you say the one is.

Yeah well I'm not going to expect you to, that's perfectly understandable. This person on the other hand allegedly bred these snakes didn't they? They really should at least be aware of the genes in question and they didn't even suggest it may be an enchi did they?

I'm usually pretty dead on with morph identification, especially single genes. Color and pattern are definitely Enchi.

You made a promise to buy a snake that isn't the one being represented. This person is either a terrible breeder or a flipper. Idk which is worse. Single gene animals for the most part are extremely easy to identify. So someone who can't eve identify that correctly, is someone I'd steer away from.

What is the opinion of the pastel snake I posted. I'm thinking of getting that one instead.

Just spoke with the breeder, he said the pairing was a vanilla pastel to a pastel

I still say pastel, I'm really not seeing enchi there. I've produced pastels that look like that before.
