No this is my nicaraguan. :) Neither one of them are nippy. At least they haven't been so far.

What locale is the new girl? If she is a Colombian, she's one of the darkest Colombians I've ever seen. Nice boa and I agree, cute pink cheeks!

She is sort of my mystery boa. She's not quite as dark as she looks in the pictures. Will have to get some in more natural light. She was marked "Mexican Dwarf Boa". A few breeders have told me she looks like a tarahumara but of course they can't guarantee it for sure or say she's pure without knowing exactly where she came from. All the store would say is a small local breeder wholesaled them a bunch of things. So will have to see what happens as she grows.

I would cautiously say Tarahumara, if not pure then at least 50%. Yours looks very much like my three, especially the peach belly.

It's odd to find one at a pet shop with unknown lineage though, most breeders and keepers are careful to maintain provenance on the locality lines.

I know I was shocked to see her. I saw the enclosure marked "Mexican Dwarf Boa" and my first thought honestly was uh huh surreee. I figured I would ask to see her and when they lifted the hide I was pretty surprised. They weren't charging much for her so I figured I would take a chance.

I did try to find out what breeder she came from but they wouldn't tell me. I just got the "from one of our local sources" speech.
