What a cutie! I love his/her brassy gold color.

Re: Our new addition!
Its a him :-) thank you! I got him for my husband cause he's always always wanted a spider ball an now he has one :-)
-
Do I spy a mustachio? Very pretty

Pretty snake. I love seeing balls relax. I'm getting more and more into how spiders look.
Since I saw toys in your pics, I wonder, as someone who has little nieces visiting sometimes and will first get her first snake, I wonder; what's the infection risk? I'm afraid to have the snake on any surface they would walk/crawl since they still stick their dirty fingers and other things in their mouths, and have heard salmonella från snakes is a big issue. Could you give any tips? How big is the infection risk?

Re: Our new addition!
Lol I have four kids under 6 three boys an got custody of my husbands daughter since beginning of the year. We have two balls right now and they are only allowed to handle the spider since he's bigger than our normal. We make sure EVERY time the kids hold him we wash their hands really really good. Our 6 year old has done started asking for his first snake and so has our 4 1/2 year old lol. As for right now they can just share the ones we have until daddy decides on when they can get one :-)

Re: Our new addition!
Great pick up! Looks like he might be het for something with that white speckling along the sides. Check with the person you brought him from to be sure. Good luck!

Re: Our new addition!

I'm not trying to be rude or start any kind of drama by any means, but I've seen multiple posts of yours like this and it's starting to irk me a bit. You keep telling people their snakes look het this or het that or like a morph it obviously isn't. Just in case you aren't aware, hets usually don't look "visual". There's the possible "train tracks" of het pieds, or the possible busy patterning of het clowns, but you can't look at an animal and say it's het for something. The only way you can say an animal is het for something, or possibly het for something, is if you produced it yourself or bought it from a reputable breeder.
ETA: all spiders have the white on their sides. It's also variable. This one happens to only have a little bit.

Well, I am not trying to be rude either but if you are irked, YOU may need to get to a clinic. This forum is for questions and answers with no one here really any expert. I definitely am not! I say what's on my mind bc this forum is a learning forum. And I am looking for answers and advice on breeding and genetics. Sure you can look at the phenotype of a animal and see different genes possibly expressed are you kidding me? I am however happy to entertain your opinion on the topic of the heterozygous possibilities in bp's. Stay in peace and not in pieces!:salute:

It irks me only because there are people on this forum that are trying to learn, and when people are throwing them falsities, it's going against them learning real information. I've just seen you say "your snake looks like a het" multiple times, and that might REALLY confuse someone who's newer to the hobby. I'm just saying, if this person bought their spider as just a spider, no matter how wacky or aberrant or low or high white, it is just a spider. The white specks have nothing to do with an unknown heterozygous gene, it has to do with the spider gene. The OP could've been really confused by what you said, possibly even led to believe they didn't get what they thought they got.
