Is this a mojave?
Found this snake on Craigslist advertised as a mojave.
To me it doesn't look like one.
What do you think?

That's a rather interesting Mohave.

Re: Is this a mojave?
I am no expert on genetics as it relates to bp's. It appears to be a Mojave with another unknown gene expressed in the phenotype. Can you get the sellers to tell you about the parents? If they have a clue! Buy from a breeder, someone who can pretty much give a little background info on lineage and parentage. Good luck. :salute:
-
I could see that too. I'm not really in the know on either gene, but Ghi was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Def a cool looking snake whatever the gene combo going on there is. :)

What are they asking for it?

No GHI, a GHI mojave is very apparent in a way this is just not. It's odd looking, but I would say only mojave.
-
They are asking $175 for her

Why don't you save up and get the Mojave ghi from Mike Wilbanks? Maybe even do a payment plan with him for a real Mojave GHI? That is only my suggestion and opinion to you, do what makes you comfortable. :salute:Good luck.
-
At $175 she looks like the start to an inexpensive and potentially cool little project, if that's what you're looking for.
-
That's actually exactly what I'm looking for. .
-
Looks like a mojo + a combination of cinny/sable/blackhead. I'd say it's worth dinking around with. Also, just because a morph is new, doesn't necessarily mean it'll be an expensive morph. If it's a game changer, then sure. I don't want to see an ad on kingsnake from you trying to sell a blackback for 10 grand :crash:...
EDIT: I've also seen mojos that look like that. Could just be variability, not necessarily a second gene at play.
-
Not at all. Not looking for some get rich quick investmemt, I just want to breed some snakes as a hobby to see if I can produce something cool.
-
Mojaves can look so different. The ones I've seen for sale here in Sweden are so pale, then I look at Bob Clark's and it's a completely different snake.
-
Yeah, price is right, totally grab and dink around with it for a bit. You never know, might get something neat out of it!

Re: Is this a mojave?
Could be just a dark mojave. Looks very similar to chocolate mojaves.
-
It does not look mixed to me... it is kind of dark but i would bet that it is only a mojave.
-
Just a Mojave with a crappy dorsal stripe and odd aliens.
No GHI.
I don't think that's a mojo I would want on my racks.:colbert:
Just my 0.02

Well, maybe I'd use her for a Mojave Enchi Spider or Mojave Orange Dream Leopard.
Yeah, that might be cool. If you mix up a morph that needs to be clean, low pattern.

I think she's pretty personally.
