Closets, cabinets, under/behind/inside literally everything you own. A hatchling BP can fit nearly anywhere, so leave no stone, pantry, or couch cushion unturned. If you have tile or non-carpet flooring, one method is to put flour down between rooms so you can see if the snake has been through.

But seriously, I mean it when I say it can be literally anywhere. Don't be surprised if it finds itself inside a light fixture or up under a sink somewhere.

I've read some peoples snakes end up between the mattress and box spring or pillow cases. In blankets. Up high. Even check your doors. Make sure there's no holes in them like around the frame. They can squeeze themselves into tenteeny tiny spaces.

You can leave a hide and some kind of heat source in the middle of the room with the food inside the hide. Flour is a good plan.

You would be shock at how small a hole they need to escape and just how tiny a place they need to hide. Usually they are found in the same room the escaped in, often less then 5 feet from their cage. It's hard but try not to panic to much. You can try late at night sitting in the room very quietly and listen for him, that is how we found my sister's corn years ago, inside a dog treat box...under the dog treats... Don't forget to check high as well, snakes have been found on top of book shelves and behind hanging picture frames!

If it can fit its head, it can fit it's whole body.

How old is the baby ? Another approach it's a lot of work but has to be done. Start in one room top to bottom and look and feel everything my Baby was in the closet I had checked I made a mistake and she was in the boot, I will never make that mistake again, I learned just how clever he was. When I realized he was out First thing I did was close off any holes like pipes and plumming x, this way I know he's inside. I did the flower on the floor never saw a trail . Put some water in his dish and see if he's . thirsty you can flower around the water bowl. He will need water before he needs a mouse I also did night sitting and lost many hours of sleep.

Please put these comments on the forum I posted about ideas for finding your lost snake. What works for others might not work for some. When someone is panicking about their lost snake they don't want to hear what they did wrong, they want to find their snake.

Also, I had a 8 foot red tail that would hide up by the light fixture.

If you want to find the snake you need to first calm down. When you are panicked your mind will deliberately guide your eyes around the snake so you don't find it.

I once got all panicked because I couldn't find an adult TEGU. How hard could it be to find that in the tiny apartment I lived in then? But I couldn't find him because I was so anxious. I was already a full grown adult 30 something but I was so scared I turned the house upside down moved all the furniture away from the walls etc. I even checked outside the house and where I took out the trash and tore the trash bags apart and considered calling the police. Then I called my mom and cried! LOL. I did this for hours, no tegu found. Then I decided to calm down, and within 5 mins, I found her sleeping soundly on the bottom shelf of the shoe cabinet.

Make sure there is no way for the snake to leave the house, better yet the room. Then take a deep breath and go through everything systematically, one end to the other, even the places you don't think likely. If you jump from place to place you will never find him.

Banana Ball Escaped ! Help Me Please!!!!!!!!
My ball python escaped about a week ago and i looked everywhere in the room she was in. Surprisingly, my friend found her in the bathroom (which is very far away from the room) inside the bathtub. I never thought she would be inside the bathtub, so you might want to check other rooms :)
Good luck in finding her! I know you'll find her somewhere :)

Don't worry, my BP escaped from his cave for 13 hrs and I looked for him everywhere. Turns out he hid himself behind the desk, a few steps next to his cave.

If I've learned anything in the 15 years of snake owning I have under my belt, snakes are resilient. I'm sure you'll find him. Be happy. He's a banana. He's a bright color. If I lost my normal. Monty, I don't think I'd be able to find her.

They should heal okay on their own. Just make sure they stay clean.

I'm glad to hear you found him safe and sound!

They look like injuries from the escape - likely made by wedging through a space between the tub and the rack you previously thought was too small for him to fit through (or didn't close quite as far as usual). Nothing time won't heal though.

Brother, calm down. I know it's hard to do right now but you have to. By being overly excited you may miss something or miss him! Call some friends over and make it a project. More eyes ,more chance of finding him. Stay in peace and not pieces. Good luck!

Make sure you correct the issue with the rack because once they escape they will do it again. It is shocking how small an opening a snake can fit through. I watched a large retic (over 100 lbs) about the thickness of my lower leg, fit under a door I couldn't get my hand under. If the head fits the body will follow.

So glad you found him! That's really great. Why don't you consider a commercial hatchling rack? Maybe one with lids. Especially for high end morphs that you own and their safety? This way you can rest a little easier! Best of luck brother. :gj:

I am really happy you found him. I lost my Coral Glow only a week after bringing him home. I searched for *8 hours straight and found him in literally the LAST place on Earth I would have expected. I treat baby Royals now as little suicide bombers. They don't mind dying from the escape and it'll blow up your entire day, too. Or longer than that depending on the situation; if you find the animal or not.

    Grats on the find!!!! <3
