Possible ovulation?

First year breeding, and I've been pairing my male with my female for a little over a month. I've done my research, and she looks like she has tail suck and a possible ovulation. It's certainly a tail suck! I am not so sure about the ovulation though. :gj:

It actually doesn't look like a tail suck to me. If you've only been pairing them together for a month, your time line is kind of off and I would expect you to have a lot more waiting to do before you see an ovulation.

How long would be appropriate? I know the time from ovi to eggs and the time from eggs to hatching but I couldn't really find the time from lock to ovi

I think the ovulation process presents itself further down the anatomy at the lower 1/3 of the animal. This just doesn't appear to be located in the right area to be a true ovulation. Idk for sure. :confusd: :confusd:

Doesn't look like an ovulation, they are usually very obvious...

Wow I'll say! How long from a lock does it usually take?

That's tough to say, usually months. Could be two months, could be six months or even longer from the first lock.

Maybe it is a ovulation, and her size has to do with the number of eggs she is carrying? I would continue to pair her up with the male to insure any doubt about fertilization. Good luck! :gj:

Just had them lock again last night, hope she'll lay for me!

My female locked with a male after she ovulated and she shed twice. She gave me 7 good eggs
