Need help! Dont know why bp is doing this!

So my girlfriends dad baught a rescued bp at repticon about 2 months ago for 10 dollars and he went into shed and now hes been doing this for an hour now: http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...301f5c9adb.jpg

His mouth is open and he moves fast if you try to touch him, theres no mucus coming from nose so i am no clue :/

This is what comes with rescues. You have no history of the pet nor how it was kept. To me it looks like mouth rot but id suggest to take it to the vet and get it checked out. I would also advise that if you keep other animals to quarantine this particular animal away from the others. The quick movement is likely from being stressed and obviously not feeling well.

Actions to take:
-Increase the temps in its environment
-Decrease the humidity a bit
-Maintain fresh water in the cage at all times
-Keep the substrate/bedding clean and possibly move to paper towels
-Clean/Disinfect items such as water bowls, branches and hides

Now this is just based off of the picture shown and is again just a suggestion. I would again recommend taking this animal to a vet to get properly checked out.

Yeah, kudos to you and your family for giving this guy half a chance. I agree with everything that the previous post wrote about the initial treatments. A herp vet is going to get to the real definitive treatments. He (the bp) probably has a bad ri as well as mouth rot and facial injuries. Wow, keep all your receipts on everything you spend. Well, he has a retained shed, so that needs sorting.

Is his lower jaw undershot? It's hard to judge but his jaw looks quite short ( as does his whole head really )

Yw. I agree that the mandible looks asymmetric to the maxilla (upper jaw). The scales look dry and mottled, poor shed is apparent. The poor little guy is lucky to have you. Good luck and keep us posted.:gj:

That bottom jaw looks way off... I'd probably try a vet visit if I were you.

So update my girlfriend put him in a bath and the shed came off the mouth is shut and he seems active a lot more, thank you guys for all the help ill keep u guys updated

In the future for stuck sheds, creating a humid hide usually works better than a bath and is less stressful. You can do it by putting a lot of wet sphagnum moss in a secure hide. This lets the snake get the shed off themselves.

True yea we tried using that moss but he was trying to get it off for about 2 weeks andnjust couldnt so we figured we would try bath lol

I wonder if whatever is going on with his lower jaw could have been causing him not to be able to get the shed started...

I would think your right, it looked like he face smashed a glass cage for along time and now we're he starts his shed is a big scar.

Maybe and now his sheds on his face is harder to get off? Because the rest of his body shed fine just his face was still unable to lose shed :/

The face is their starting point and if he can't get that chin started that may be it. you may have to help start it if you see a flap next time then let him get the rest if it came off fine.

I'm curious about what's up with the lower jaw; does there seem to be any sort of wound or infection? Do you know if the snake can eat properly? It may just be the picture, but it looked really bizarre to me.

That first pic did seem like the entire snout was short. this shot looks much closer to normal but still a stout head and short mouth. That's why I was guessing glass bumping.
I have a chineese water dragon we got for free/rescued? because he looked smushed on his face form running into glass full speed. He's ugly as sin smashed face and half his tail is a grow back cuz that was gone too when we got him. but the thing won us over had him for years.
