My FIRST ball python!
Hi everyone :) So, I've never actually touched a snake before, or owned one. I've always loved them, and I've finally taken the step to getting one. I spent a lot of time and research making sure he would be comfortable and healthy here, and today around 11:30 he came home!
Here is my lovely Malachi :P

It was literally love at first sight. He's such a sweet gorgeous boy! I can't believe how happy I am to have him <3
He is currently in his 90 degree hidey home, hehe. I'm just so excited ;-; I wish I didn't wait so long to get a snake, now I know what I've been missing out on!!

Thank you guys so much :) I think Malachi has settled in really well so far. He is a little shy at times, but also VERY curious! I was a little worried because my cat had jumped up to where his tank is, but he just watches the cats lol. He isn't bothered or scared at all! It's so awesome to see him slithering around his cage at night <3
Also he is definitely a little escape artist, I see him slithering to the top of his tank sometimes, but with 2 lock clips and 2 heavy books on each size there's no way he's getting out. And when my vision cage arrives with the lock and key there's DEFINITELY no way he's getting out!
Oh man he's just so cute ;-; It's killing me to not touch him for a week

I hope it's ok to bring up my old thread, I just wanted to post a recent photo I took of my sweet boy Malachi!
He was freshly shed so he was extra bright and handsome :D This was also his first time outside in the Florida sunshine!

Great looking animal! I know you are very happy with him. I thought he was your first bp. I see you have quite a few listed. Did you get all those since acquiring Malachi?

Thanks everyone :)
He is my first ball python, and yes all of my others were gotten after him. I'd been admiring snakes pretty much my whole life, but I was never in a situation to have them because my parents completely disallowed it. Then I moved out when I was 18, but still didn't take the plunge. Just kept watching videos and reading and looking at pictures. Then I finally decided it was time, at 21 years old, and got Malachi, and of course it was the best decision I ever made! I waited until I got into a groove with him, with feeding and cleaning the enclosure and stuff like that until I got my second boy, Lucien. But Malachi was in a tank at that time, and I was having a really hard time keeping his humidity up and it was really annoying to have to take the lamp off, the books off, and the lock clips off every time I wanted to open his tank. So I bought a rack system (Reptile basics), well I bought two, with 3 tubs each, so 6 tubs total. I moved my boys over to there and ended up getting perfect sheds from both of them, and they were much friendlier and happier in there.
Also, I had always wanted a boa. They were by far my favorite species of snake. Not only due to their look, but their personality. How curious and active they are. But I was unsure with my small height that I would be able to handle a larger snake like that, but I went to a pet store that had an adult male, and after holding him for a while, I was smitten and knew I wanted a boa. So I contacted Vin Russo, because I knew he had dwarf boas. And that is how I got Faust, my sweet Caulker Cay little man <3 Seeing his little face and feeling his entire body wrap around my hand just makes me light up...I love it.
I just really fit into this like a tetris block. It's like when you meet someone new but feel like you've known them forever? That's how this was for me :P
That's probably a lot more info than what you wanted to read, but there it is lol.
