Here are pictures of my ball python.*NOTE* second pic is a pic of this little red thing on her belly, what is it? and the 4th picture is a really good one :) and the reason it is so big is because i flipped it in psp and it shrunk the file size.

Is there any way you can get a closer shot of the little red thing? I can't really make out any details. Does it look like a hard little surface bump? Is it hard? It could be a tick, or a blister..or something else entirely. I can't make out any details to give you a better idea.

Why/How would a bp end up with a mouthful of substrate?
    Ok, that's not a tick.

I want to say it might be a blister, but I really don't know.

ahh dont they get blisters if it's wet or damp? the bark is very dry actually, i need to clean the tank out my dad hasnt been able to buy me bark for 3 weeks now, so im going to buy some more on the 15th.

anything sharp in your tank? could be a little wound to.

looks more like a wound to me than a blister
maybe a sharp piece of bark injured its belly. But, that sounds kinda improbable to me, i've housed alot of snakes in hardwood bark, and have never seen a substrate related injury

    Re: jaw got stuck :(
my BP climbs up on stuff alot and maybe she fell and it stabbed her slightly? maybe she was trying to get on the thermometers and she fell off and it stabbed her, the wood.

Yeah it looks like a little wound to me. I don't like the looks of that splintery wood for substrate. I can just see a stabbed eye or something...I dunno...makes me cringe. :( I'm weird.

    I think she's a really pretty lookin' snake. :)
I use the cypress mulch, and never had a problem with it. Maybe the red mark was on her before you got her?

She's a good looking snake, but you wanted to know about the second picture so go figure :P

The little red spot doesn't look like it's anything major to worry about anyway :)
