would you say this is a pastel clown?
So i bought a "pastel clown" from my local reptile shop, the main snake guy i usually talk to there wasnt there and the lady told me this is a pastel clown but i want to make sure as i am going to breed him later when he matures. I bought him for only 80 so im not going to be upset or anything hes the best snake i could ask for lol.

Your pictures are not showing up but from what you have said above ... A pastel clown for $80?? I would not get my hopes up if I was you as most range from $1400 to $2400 .... But hey, maybe you got the deal of the century

The price you described ... Sounds to me like you probably got a pastel that is possibly het for clown

You will not get a clown for $80 so a pastel clown is even less likely sorry.

Pastel Het Clown maybe however a pet store is not really who I would turn to for a het.

As for the pictures you cannot post pictures that are on your drive you must upload them to an host (your gallery here on BP.net or Photobucket) and than copy and paste the img code.

I have seen males around as low as $800 but still far away from $80

your picture shows it is not a clown at all. Could possibly be a het, but from a local shop, that is up to you how much you could even trust that.

Looks like a super pastel too me just like mine. I paid $125 for my mine and thought I got a killer deal so if you picked him up for 80 I think you did really good. He's a nice looking guy.

The high white lines that run up the sides of his alien heads sure do have me curious tho ....

what i read about clowns pattern is on the sides they have the "two eyes and nose" and he has like 4 of those patterns on him thats the only thing that had me curious.

Looks like a Pastel possibly het for Clown, def not a super pastel. Here is a picture of my 200 gram Pastel Clown and my Super Pastel when she was around 223 grams in November.

There's a little more to it than that .... I see a very good looking pastel with some extra awesome blushing on his head for a regular pastel ... Like I said the high white lines up the sides of the alien heads have me curious, however probably only because the clown gene was questioned/mentioned.

Here is a pic of my pastel clown

Here's one from when she was about the size of the guy you got ..... You can see there is no comparison ..... But none the less a very good looking snake ... I would have happily shoveled out 80 for him :gj:

Re: would you say this is a pastel clown?
stealthclown, no harm done here even if this is just pastel het for nothing. Nice snake at good price. However; I suggest you brush up on your morphs before making future purchases, the snake is clearly not a clown. There are plenty of disreputable/uninformed people who will gladly sell you a misrepresented snake, it's up to you to know the difference. I would never by het for anything from anyone but a well established breeder who has nothing to gain by trying to sucker someone. Their reputations are far more valuable than a few extra bucks they can squeeze out of an uneducated buyer. Also, be aware of the going rate for morphs/combos that are of interest to you. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't!

True, at the time of purchase i didnt care the morph i just wanted a bp i was just curious if what they said was true, i had a feeling they didn't really know but from now of on, ill only purchase from breeders :)
