Re: Stuck eye cap question.
Also, I will try to post pics soon. I tried snapping one earlier but my camera on my phone would just not focus close enough on the eye so it would come out clear.
Re: Stuck eye cap question.
Another thing with him I have noticed is that he moves slower than normal. He also will stay in the position I put him down in for a long time...don't know if that's anything to be concerned about

Yeah they are dented in. I can't really tell how many layers there are if there even are more than one. They are pretty noticeable though

Re: Stuck eye cap question.
If his eyes are dented in then it sounds like he's dehydrated. I would keep his humidity higher than normal until his next shed, and see if they don't come off then. He may also remove them himself before his next shed once he rehydrates.
Re: Stuck eye cap question.
I would do some nice soaks and also boost tank humidity

Here is the best pic I could get. Both eyes are like this. I have kept humidity pretty high since yesterday and he seemed a little more active when I just picked him up to check on him and snap the pics. I probably will do a soak later or tomorrow to see how that does.

Re: Stuck eye cap question.
Well just as an update, he has started wheezing and after trying vaseline and the water bottle tricks, I have only been able to move the eye caps a little so he will be seeing the vet today. Thanks for all the help guys, but this one is out of my hands right now, I tried everything I could but hopefully if I ever run into this situation again I will be able to handle it myself.

Re: Stuck eye cap question.
The vet started the treatment for the RI but the culture swab results haven't come back yet. I'm making a little progress with the eye caps and the breeder I took him too couldn't get them off either. Vet didn't even want to try to take them off. Now I'm stuck between keeping the humidity low and heat high to help battle the RI or keep the humidity and try to get the caps off. I figured for now keep humidity either normal or low to help fight the RI. I have f10sc on the way and I do plan on doing a home remedy on top of the treatments. For the caps, I am going to wait until I notice he is in his shed cycle and focus on higher humidity then and hope he gets those caps off himself. I think it is only one layer, two at most because they are softened up a little and moving around and in the right light I can see his pupils. Anyone see anything wrong with what I am doing or a different way to go about this? Stuck caps and an RI at the same time is a pain, especially when it's my first time dealing with either. I just want this snake to be healthy and feel secure and I'll do whatever it takes.

Re: Stuck eye cap question.
When i have stuck eyecaps, i hold a damp paper towel over the animals head and work them off carefully. Works every time
Re: Stuck eye cap question.
I thought humidity should be high for that too but a lot of sources have been saying keep it low...sort of conflicting when it comes to that

Re: Stuck eye cap question.
So he went into blue today. I almost missed it because the cap kind of didn't show the color all the way but I noticed it in bright light. Looking pretty dull too so I'm crossing my fingers he sheds off his caps and can finally see...
