actually got very lucky with finding a breeder who was downsizing, he had a large clutch of pastels he could no longer care for and decided to be really awesome and throw him in with the bee.
all i gotta do is drive 80 miles or so. all told its gonna be $130 investment for two gorgeous snakes.
    - anyone have any ideas for a breeding project for me? might not be this season but hopefully next, there are so many combinations for both i cant really choose.
im also in search of a lesser pair, might try to go for a BEL down the line

http://ball-pythons.net/gallery/file...gejpeg_2_2.jpg here are my new babies, they were a bit stressed from the long drive but are now resting easy in their new hide, the pastel(Ares) took a fuzzy rat on arrival back home and the Bee(Gabrielle) was still too stressed so i will attempt in another couple days.
i will post better pics in the coming days i didn't wanna bug them
btw coloring looks totally off on the pastel has a nice goldenrod color to him i'm hoping the HD camera will pick it better

no tegu today, im going to hold off until i can build a decent enclosure and have all the knowledge/equipment to be a responsible owner, i dont wanna get one and end up having to go trial by fire i want to be well educated about it. BPs ive been dealing with for years and im confident in my ability plus they require a whole lot less attention

Check craigslist... There are really cool morphs going for really low prices on there.

Yeah, often because they are mite infested or sick and they know they can't sell on forums or kingsnake.com classifieds because of bad reviews. Good way to get a sick snake and kill your entire collection.

Or because they're local sellers that don't want to ship? I'll call this a little harsh. I got three of my girls off craigslist locally, and all three are doing well; no mites, no illnesses, good feeding responses.

I know there are people on craigslist that aren't very trustworthy, but honestly you can usually pick out a bad breeder/inexperienced owner just by looking at the ad or through the usual buyer/seller interactions.

True. You can get good ones. But many people get blinded by "super deals" and don't do their homework. I have some expensive snakes so for me it's not worth risking their health. Anyways, the snakes I'm interested in for future projects would never be on Craigslist to begin with.

There are things called books... in these things you read on ways to pick out good snakes and avoid bad ones. Lest one be guilty of making assumptions. But then again, some of know everything.

Actually a proper quarantine does this.
A book doesnt do any good when visually inspecting an animal.

Did me lots of good. Explained exactly how to check for illness, signs of potential illness, how to feel for broken bones, hoe to spot and safely remove mites if they're present. Had pics too. Got it off Amazon and everythang.

Well so far so good, she is doing amazing, she just shed and has had a great feeding response ever since. I got lucky with this deal, she was a little underweight but is doing much better now http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15...8b5a504310.jpg
