hides, substrate, heating stuff

Hides and heat tape would be Reptile Basics.
Substrate would be Walmart or wherever you buy you paper towels.

Substrate, buy locally it will save you a lot of money over time

"Nice" is relative. Many people prefer function (read: simplifying cleanliness) over visual aesthetics when determining their substrate of choice, which would make paper towels "nicer" for them than coconut fiber and other more natural looking substrates.

function and cost effectiveness are taken into account

I love Reptile Basics. In regards to the substrate I think function is a big part of the choice. I personally use coco husk because it absorbes water well and great for humidity.
