Well, I had my first company interview today. I think overall it went well. I'll hear back from them in a week or two.

I'm beat. I talked to 6 different people today, and if one of the departments had been notified earlier, I would have talked to probably 2 more people.

Let's all hope it went welll

That is what I call an intensive interview. You deserve a nap or a reward. :)

I understand that an offer has been extended. I believe it is an HS offer, and it is not "group" dependent (I could be wrong... but that is what
Bill told me). Obviously the first objective is to get you to sign with HS, and my second goal is to get you to consider Research."
I haven't acutally seen the official terms of the offer just yet, but I'm bounding all over the place anyway.

Today is such a good day so far :) I got to snuggle with the guy I like last night for a bit.....Took some great crestie pictures..washed the car, slept well..

Okay, now all I have to do is pass all my classes with some good grades, and I'll be pretty much set :)

Got the offical terms of the offer over the phone today :)

I should get the offical letter in a couple of days :)

Now, if I can only decide if I want to work in Space Land and Sea, or Applied Research.

What a tough choice to have to make! ;) Maybe you should meet the people who would be your supervisors and consider them when you make your decision.

Acutally, I worked in both departments as a co-op, so I know at last some of the people. I worked for a lot longer in Applied Research though, and I know the people better.

It's like this: Work on really neat stuff all the time in AR, or work on the jupiter icy moon oribiter in SLS....

if it were me i think i'd go for the neat stuff all the time. sounds like a lot more fun, plus you already know everyone. plus, icy cold moon orbiter..brrrr! :P how long do you have to decide?

I have until the monday after thanksgiving, I think.

I'll let him know before then.

I'm still leaning towards AR, but it may come down to this:

    "Heads"

    Flipps coin

I don't think it will quite come down to that, but you never know....I need to find out what they will do if I fail a class.

well just don't fail a class and it'll all be just fine! ;)

    :frustrated:

Where I work is probably not going to matter, becuase as far as I can tell, I can work my :censored: off and still not graduate.

I have to find out what will happen with that and it's looking like there is no possible way I can pass one of my classes with even a D.

I hate this semster. I still have to talk to a few other teachers and see if I can get an exam moved, since I have 3 exams next monday back to to back. There is no way I can get through all three exams and still get a good grade. I just talked to the prof who is teaching the class I'm failing and she won't move her exam becuase it's in the syallabus.

I just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I spend almost all of my time studying or trying to do homework or something else. I've probably spent a little bit too much time on herps or on this board, but I'm just trying to keep from going insane.

I don't know exactly what will happen with the job offer, but I'm guessing it's going to go bye bye.

Take a deep breath, then go talk to the other two professors and see if you can sit that exam at a different time, even if it's earlier. Even if you flunk one class, it's not the end of the world.

Yeah, I have to talk to the other two proffessors yet, and I have talked to the company. They might be able to put me on a co-op/intern position if I don't grad or do some sort of part time.

It might still be possible to pull out a D, but man is it going to be really hard (a D still means I can grad) I will email the department back and let chuck look into other options.

I did finally get the offical offer letter today, which is contigent on me getting my degree.

Oh yeah, and for the curious I also mentioned in my current reply that I am taking the position in Research if I manage to graduate this semster.

And nobody will move my exam becuase it's not a final and I don't have more than 3 exams on one day. Blarg. I hate having three exams in one day...

    I am an idiot. :bonk:

I just double checked my little excel spreadsheet that I use for grades..turns out it wasn't calculating correctly..I'm doing a lot better in that class than I thought I was. I'm glad I didn't completely panic.

Man do I feel dumb..here I am emailing my company connection and panicking..geeze.

Ha ha! I know the feeling. At least now you can relax and know that unless you really mess up, you probably have a very high likelihood of passing the class and graduating on time. Better to find out you're passing when you thought you weren't than the other way around. :w00t:

Well, I bombed all three exams this morning. I really died on my second exam and I shouldn't have. Apparently I studied all fo the wrong things, and my 1 page "cheat" sheet didn't have any of the right stuff on it.

I don't think I'll be passing the other class I was concerned about either, I did really horrible on that exam as well.

In fact, the only exam I did reasonably well on was the 356 exam, and I didn't get the 65 point question right (it was out of 120) since I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.

    Bye bye job offer.......

But these aren't your final exams, right? Sit tight and wait for the grades so you can calculate your averages before falling on your sword. It may not be as bad as you think, and thw worst is another school term and he attendant costs and you need to find another position when you graduate. That is *far* from the end of the world, and you can recover.
