Abaddon
This is Abaddon, my first ball python.

She's a lavender albino. I picked her up on January 8th.
She's roughly 3 months old and is about to shed. She was a little dry, and cold when I picked her up. Although I've managed to condition her scales a fair amount, she's still kept this cool temperature to her. She likes to keep to the hot end which I try to keep between 90-95.
Behavioural wise, she is much different then I expected. She has never once curled up in a ball, she's only hissed when she's trying to sleep (I have to wake her up the apply the shed aid), she's extremely curious, always flicking her tongue and is not head shy at all. Even on the way home she was more interested in the smells in the car then she was scared.
She has what looks to be a tiny scar on her under belly

Congrats on getting your first bp, she's beautiful! Good to know she's healthy and active. If she is indeed going into shed be prepared because she will most likely refuse to eat. But dont worry about the scar, she'l shed that off, it doesn't look like an active injury, looks healed up.
And she'l always be cold to the touch as we humans are warmer :)

That area you think is a scar is the "belly button" of the snake. Nothing is or had been wrong with it. Congrats on the purchase, my first was an albino as well.

Ok, thank you, I thought I might be something like that but I wasn't entirely sure. Albinos are so pretty :D

Very nice I wish it were in my collection.

Re: Abaddon
I love albinos. You should make a progression thread and update it every once in a while so we can watch how he turns out.

I've been found out! I am a geek.
Long live the queen.
It was either Abaddon, Lilith or Lucifer
Most name their albinos "Angel", I decided to be a little abstract about it.

By the way, your snake will almost always feel cool to you, because your body temp is 98, and that is too warm for a ball python.
Very lovely little one, she'll grow quickly and you'll be amazed at how she changes.

Its a cool show. I'm a bit behind though. Need to catch up on last season.
Its a good name. Unique for sure.
Right after they shed is when they look AMAZING!! Mine has a lot of lavender on the head and neck. Very noticeable after he sheds.

She just shed for pictures when I reweighed her. Though there's a tiny pit of eye cap that's still stuck to her that I'm unsure how to help her with
-
When eye caps get stuck, get some shed ease and something abrasive and gently rub it off. I use a pair of gardening gloves that have the plastic, or whatever material they coat them in for extra grip, and gently use my thumb to stroke the cap off. You could probably use the plastic thimble that mail sorters use as well.

Which is where Abaddon in the show comes from but my choice in name was based off the tv show character, not the bible.
