    Finally! He's here.
It's christmas here at my house today, I FINALLY got my baby. After a few months of hanging around and researching, I picked up a male lesser today. He's about to shed so I didn't take body pictures but he's gorgeous and chunky (about 300 grams per the breeder)

Until my rack is done I have him in a 20 gallon long tank with coconut husk/aspen mixed. He has a cave hide and a half log hide. I do have an accurite so we're sitting at 68% humidity (to make sure he sheds okay) 88 on the Hotspot but only like 75 on the warm side. My ambient Temps in my home are pretty low so I'm trying to use a basking lamp to bring the gradient to where I want it. I have foil covering 2/3 of the terrarium and he has a nice sized water dish. Hotspot is flexwatt UTH controlled by hydrofarm thermostat.

Last but not least... he needs a name. Help? [emoji4]

Congratulations on your new addition. Make sure that you take photos after the shed.

Some Ball Pythons prefer their smaller hides and refuse to use bigger ones. Even when they've clearly outgrown their smaller hides and are almost wearing them like shells, or hats.

Lol the inside is plenty big for him but he's so chunky and the opening is quite small. I'm waiting a couple days before I feed him to see if he sheds first but after that I'll start weighing him. I still can't decide on a name though. I prefer to stick with names from mythology

Thanks, I've been around for quite a while but just joined last month. I've kept bps in the past but this will be my first time being a part of a community of other reptile lovers!

What about Apollo? God of the sun, the lesser gene creates blushing in bps and the heat of the sun makes us blush.

That was first on my list after Dionysus. I'm really leaning toward Alexius or Alexi which is greek for "defender"

Ironically enough I read a thread today that showed one who would not leave the hide alone even though it was perched on top of her.

So glad you asked. I may have jumped the gun on how long it'll be until he actually sheds but he did come out of blue today and was tolerant to handling.
