Anybody on here keep these?
I'm having a hard time finding out a lot of information or breeders on the web on these guys.
There's a few small for sale/trade posts on kingsnake, but most don't have pictures. I know sandfire dragon ranch has some, but they don't have a lot of pictures either.
I've got my Rhacodactylus book (Vosjoli, Fast, Repashy), (which is great), but I guess I'm looking for a little bit more info on temperment and things like that. I'm also trying to find more breeders. I won't be getting a new pet for a while, but I'm looking into things.

Anthony Caponetto has a great reputation: http://www.acreptiles.com/index.htm
And of course there is Vosjoli (the author himself): http://www.giantgeckos.com/index.htm

Yeah, I found the giant gecko site right after I posted that :P He's got some nice looking ones, and he won't sell 1 gargoyle gecko, you have to get two at a time.
It also looks like I would have wait until 2005 on acreptiles, or send him an email to inqure.

Email him and ask. Just because he quotes them as a pair doesn't mean he won't sell them singly. I've learned a lot of breeders quote that way but will still sell them individually. Good luck!

Gargoyles do seem pretty cool, but they are definitely harder to find (especially singly) than cresties. Good luck.

I wouldn't mind having two, but the majority of what I have read seems to indicate that they're not very social. I know you can keep them in harems, but I don't want to end up with one way more dominate than the other and then I have to seperate them becuase the less dominate one isn't getting enough food or something. (If I end up with a breeding pair, or two males then they will be seperated as soon as they show, of course).
I know gargoyle geckos are likely to drop tails, but the tails do grow back.

yes the tails grow back. i believe mike from rhacs.com has and breeds gargoyles!

I think a friend of mine has a few pair ... not sure if he is producing or not ...but you might check with him... his name is Phil Black and runs the varanusweb forums @ http://www.varanusweb.com/index.htm

Note to self: Don Hamper currently has adult gargoyle geckos for sale....
Just wanted to get the post in so I can check his site in the future..although it looks like he might be getting rid of them.
