Here he is - thanks to Robbie Hamper. His name is "Willow" and he's 5 months old. Robbie had him labeled as a 'Pale Tan'. I'm amazed at the color change because at the show he was a very light tan - almost white. And you can see he's darker in the picture. He actually got even darker. I love his little white spots. He's so cute. He lets me hold him and isn't too jumpy. He even licked quite a bit of baby food from my finger.

He looks like a sweetie. Is he missing his tail, or is it just hidden by the leaf?

It's just hidden by the leaf. I didn't even notice you couldn't see it in the pic! But it's there. He's about 5 inches long from snout to tail and weighed in at 8 grams. :)

Very cute! Looks like he has some nice fur, too, which will be a plus if you do want to breed him later. I like his name, too -- is it for the movie, the tree, or what?

Thanks Marla! He's named after the movie - one of my favs. What do you mean by 'fur'?

Absolutely adorable!! I think Marla is reffering to the "fringe" on his head and his spine.

Okay - so how does that help with breeding? I've not really thought about breeding so I usually don't really read about it in the caresheets, books, etc.

It really doesn't help with breeding per-se, it just means his babies would be more desirable if they inherit his "fringe". I guess the more fringe on the gecko- the better looking it is?
Or something to that effect. Anyways, an absolutely charming little fellow you have there! I love him :)

I get it now. He did have more fringe than the other Crested I was trying to choose from. I love him too! He let me hold him and he ate from my finger last night. He's adorable.

Yep, the fur is the longer crests, as Danielle said, and is a desirable trait in offspring, whereas "crestless" cresties are undesirable for breeding. It doesn't make any difference regarding health or anything like that.

LOL. A Crested Gecko with lots of fringe that looks like a baby croc and tries to croak like a frog. He is adorable. Thanks.
