Also if the side looks wet in one of the photos I washed old algae off there is no more wet sides and I mist him once a day or every other day so he does not get an RI.

It's impossible to see whatever the heck it is you're trying to show us (besides the one of your snake, of course). We need MUCH better pics if you want any sort of a reliable response. :)

Fish tank lid held down with gorilla tape and a 15lb wight on it. I'm going to cut air holes in the tape.

If your snake can touch the tape at all, then no. If there is nothing between the light and the snake, then no. If there's a snowball's chance that that weight will fall through the lid, then no. Fish tanks lids are meant for fish tanks.

Something I want to add is. We live in Alaska it is a cold state. In till we get a house of our own we are living with my Aunt. My ball got lost for 2 weeks and we have concrete floors and we found him alive and no sign of infection the only thing he has is a scab on the end of his tail from where he got caught somewhere.

    Yes, that is fine.
You could also help up the temperature in the tank by insulating the back and sides with some blue board foam.

How big is your snake? that hide is huge..

That hide is not a good choice for your snake. The door is to big, the interior to tall, and the plastic allows to much light in making the hide bright instead of dark.

i had a makeshift lid like this, woke up and my snake was gone so my answer is no, put in a temporary container and get a new cover right away

Do you not have a light in your room? LOL. Can't see anything in the pics of the lid.

Anyway - snakes are notorious escape artists. I would err on the side of caution and not leave him there unattended. Get a proper lid asap. My $0.02.
