    Found strange thing on belly
So I'm starting to panic. I just pulled my little guy out to clean his tub and I felt a bubble on his belly so I flipped him over and this is what I found. I can't tell if it's a hernia or something. Please help I'm starting to freak out. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...112cdeed25.jpg

Anyone, please. I am trying to just get some help with if this warrants a vet visit or if I can soak him in something or do something to make whatever this is better.

It looks like a blister to me. How hot is his UTH?

I would say the start of a burn.

    Tell us about the cage.

    Heat source?
Is it regulated with a tstat?
    Substrate?
    Substrate thickness?

That absolutely looks like a burn. Do you happen to have a heat rock? I know they are not uncommon for pet shops to sell to snake owners even though they are awful to use for any animal because they get so hot. Or if you are using an under tank heat pad, does it have a thermostat?

If that is a burn, which I am positive it is, you will need to find and remove or correct the source of the burn first. Then remove any bedding from the tank/tub and replace it with paper towels for now. You can talk to a vet and perhaps get some burn ointment for it, but be aware they often cause the scales to soften and peel and may scare you into thinking it is getting worse instead of better. Keep the belly clean and dry while it heals. Just like with us, it will be sore for a few days and will take a little while to heal. Once it is healed, any marks left behind will should go away with a few sheds.

Thank you all. I have a UTH but the people I bought it from said it won't get hotter than 100 degrees. I see now that I shouldn't have believed that. I feel so terrible because this is obviously my fault. Where can I find a thermostat?

I live in Britain, but since you live in Southern California I guess you may use LLLReptile. They sell 'em. So do most other pet/reptile stores.

I recommend you buy the best you can.

I and many other users here love Herpstats. I have 4 of them. Check them out. They ship out quick. http://spyderrobotics.com/home/products.html

    Many also like these. http://www.reptilebasics.com/thermostats

BTW, unplug the uth if you haven't already.

I have two Vivarium Electronics (V200 and V300) for my pair of racks and I love them! Worth the investment for sure.
