:) Well,
I purchased my very first female Ball Python "Trinity" back in May of 2003 - then I bought my small male "Cypher" in June of that year and my big male "Apok" on New Years Day of 2004 ( my New Years Resolution for this year was to buy more snakes...   )
and my fourth Ball Python was my other female "Switch" who I got on July 16 of this year.
I have learned a great deal about snakes in the last year and a half...I remember how excited I was bringing home Trinity from the IRBA show when she was no more than a pup....she has put on some real growth since I saw her in her plastic cup on the breeders table. She has been a good 'Un....she is almost four feet long already and is many times the size she was when I first bought her.
I really think Ball Pythons are the ultimate snake for someone like myself - a person living in an apartment that cannot have a snake of the proportions of say a Burm or a Redtail Boa.....Ball Pythons are manageable but still have the mystique of a giant snake I think. I would even try my hand at breeding but I dont think I have the space I would need to have a breeding operation going on. Plus, I have to keep things on the down low if you know what I mean...I doubt my manager would approve of my snake hobby anyhow..
So how long have you all had your babies....

I received Pelota on August 24th of this year, and have loved every moment of her up till now. In such a short time, she's already put on some girth, and I've decided to put my RTB on hold for a while and am currently hunting for a male bp as a future breeding mate for Pelota. :)
It's such an addiction...before I even got Pelota, I was already thinking of the next snake I could get. And I'm always forever looking in the online snake classifieds, looking for local deals. I've seen so many local snake ads that I've had to resist. Damn snake addictions...

I brought Issa home on October 9th. I'd love to start on some more herp projects, but I'm waiting until I have a job lined up for sure after I grad. Also, depending on where said job is, I may be moving, and I don't want to stress out any other herp with moving in the winter. (If I get lucky, I'll go to work full time at the place I was a co-op for...which is only 5 minutes away :)

I purchased my first BP baby on September 30th of 2003. I named her Isengard shortly thereafter. Unfortunately an accident with feeding a few months later (which now attests to my paranoia over feeding and why I will never place a mouse in their cage, or leave a snake with a mouse even when off feed) caused the baby female to be seriously infected with mites (I had left the pre-killed mouse and the snake in a separate 10gal warmed aquarium, hoping she would eat, and when I came to check again, there were little black dots everywhere). Reptile Relief worked wonders and a few days later both her terrarium and herself were mite-free. I thought that was the end of it, months passed, then in early February (the 11th of this year) she finally passed away. It would be another month of questions until I found out it was an IBD caused by the mites themselves that had killed her.
I wasn't sure if I wanted another snake again after that, but I did start looking into rescues a month or so after that, I wanted to help a snake. A little over a month later, a few days after I had started looking, I found myself the proud new owner of two gorgeous balls, with wonderful personalities. A local, privately owned petstore was going out of buisness, sad because they were one of those rare petstores that actually cared about their animals and had such gorgeous reptiles, they couldn't give me the snakes as any amount of money they could salvage would've been helpful, but they did offer me the pair for a lot less than expected.
So I've owned them both for nearly 8 month's. They have their own silly eating habits but they eat perfectly, shed perfectly, and enjoy hiding in flowerpots o.O;; Love them to death :D

Final Reminder:

I got my first BP, a super-aggressive female, back in early '03 (or was it late '02... hard for me to remember.) She was an awesome snake; had such charisma, and hated to be handled, but took her food like a champ. Due to the ignorance of one of my friends (there I go passing the buck again) her cage was left open one night and she escaped, only to end up frozen in our dirt-floor basement (got down there through an opened heating duct.) I have since learned the value of LOCKED and closed lids, and none of my snakes shall ever escape again.
I got Goblin, my adult male BP, in September '03 at the WNY herp show. He's the only fully grown snake I have now. Ashes I got before Goblin, in the summer of '03, he had been from petco but I got him from a friend that did not want him anymore. :( He was hard to get feeding but now eats like a champ.
Bela is my newest Ball. I got her from Alex Hue earlier this year. Then I got Apache my boa in March of this year. So I am a relatively new python keeper, but I like to think I have learnd a lot so far!
