Banana and Coral glow are not combos they are base morphs, so if you want to produce them you will need to own one to start with.

You could ask the same question about every single base morph. Isn't Mother Nature amazing?

The original Banana was a wild-caught specimen, much like most morphs. You may find this post interesting: http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...-for-Beginners.

Edit: Here's the short version of the Banana/Coral Glow story as told by Ralph Davis: http://ralphdavisreptiles.com/matrix...coral_glow.asp.

The original animals of each bloodline were wild caught animals there were imported from West Africa. the Coral Glow was imported by NERD/ Freedom Breeder in 2002, and the Banana by Will Slough in 2003. They introduced the first captive bred offspring to the reptile community and the rest is pretty much history.

It's pretty amazing to me that not one but TWO of these amazing, bright colored snakes were found out in the wild within a year of each other. You'd expect they would have been spotted and noshed by a leopard or a hawk before we got to them. Mother Nature is crazy sometimes! :O
