mine is 21 and i have her in a 30 gallon . Im not saying to put your snake in something that big but i think i would try and get ahold of a bigger tank for your little girl. A ten gal isnt to much room for a 20 inch snake to move around in.Im sure she will be very greatful ! :D

Your bp should be good in a 20 gallon tank up to about 2 feet I think.

    Grr for the heating
Actually, I moved it back here when I spotted it under feeders. No idea who had moved it there. :)

I think that if the snake cannot fully extend itself, the tank is too small. And the depth of the tank (front to back) should be at least half of the width. So I think your snake is just about ready for a 20-long, or maybe a 30-long for a few years until he goes into the 55-g.

I don't know if this will help any, but when I bought my bp, the guy said he would outgrow a 10 gal tank in 6 months (he was 2 month old when I got him) and then at 2 years he would outgrow the 20 long
    tank.

I have a rough estimate of my bp's length, but I haven't gotten around to measuring his length yet. His current weight is about 110 g though.

i have heard that too, but my bp is 4 months old, 25 inches long, and in my opinion has way outgrown a 10 gallon tank. at three months i moved her to a 20 long tank and i expect that she will outgrow that within 6 months or so too. i know it varies from snake to snake, but i do think that at 20 inches long it is time for an upgrade.
