2 sheds worth of stuck eyecaps

I have a female bumblebee that shed and had stuck eyecaps about a week later she went back into shed. She still didnt get the first layer of caps off and now has a second layer. I have soaked her and I have tried wetting a bag and letting her roam in it and nothing is working. I feel even worse because this is my girlfriends snake and I cant get her to eat and I believe it is due to stress from the caps. I keep my hot spot at 90 cool side at 83, humidity stays at 65% but when they are inshed I bump it up to about 75%. I will post pics of the eye caps

Oddly that looks more like an exposed and infected eye rather than a stuck eyecap. :weirdface

Did you check the shed skin for both problem sheds?

Rather than give advice I think I would feel far happier if the animal was seen by a vet before anything else was tried. :(

Yes del I checked both sheds and both were missing caps. What would have caused this infection if in fact it is a infection?

Would appkying neosporin help for now till I could get to the vet?

Do not attempt to remove anything yourself. The damage that you can do by messing with her eyes is nothing compared to a stuck cap or two.

Take your snake to a qualified reptile vet. Not an exotics vet that sees an occasional bearded dragon or two. Not a dog and cat vet. A vet that deals with snakes on a regular basis.

Unfortunately the only thing I have available is a exotic vet. I havent been able to find a reptile vet in indiana

You need to check your hygrometer. If your humidity is actually 65% of higher the chances of a stuck eye cap is VERY low.

I will test this when I get home. The thing is every other snake sheds perfect everytime. She shed good except the eyecaps. When I get off work im calling a vet a local breeder recommended to me thats closer to me.

Took the bumblebee to the vet she is going told it fir about 3 days. She sound very knowledgeable about ball pythons. I will update when I hear something back.

Best of luck to you on this. I would be so paranoid about any complications with their eyes, they are so delicate. Please post an update when you get one to let us know what the issue ended up decidedly being and what you did to fix it. I'm sure the solution will come in handy for a lot of us in the future.

The anxiety kicked in the moment I left.

Some good news, the eyes are not infected there is no liquid inside the caps. My hygrometer is bad I tested it and sure enough it is about 40% off got a new one fixed everyone else's humidity. They are applying a cream to the eyes because they are dry.

I got the snake back today, and the doctor checked for any retained eye caps and that he thinks that mites might have caused a infection because I had a mite break out that is okay now about 2-3 weeks ago. He gave us a cream to rub on the eyes every day for 10 days.

So it did end up being an infection? Good thing you brought him in. I hope the antibiotics work out for him.

Me too, there may also be some damage to the cornea but we won't know until the eyes clear up.

Just letting everyone know that the bumblebee shed out and the eyes are clear now. I got her to take two mice the first week I got her back from the vet. After her shed she took a rat pup.
