Considering red tail purchase.

Considering a red tail boa and I wanted to know if 60 for her and 55 gallon and all supplies is a good price. She is 6 months old and hasn't been handled much they got her out to take a picture and she struck but said its only time she's done it and feeding day is tomorrow. Are the red tails hard to tame?

Price is good. I suggest you do some homework on them before you jump in. Boas make great pets, you should just know what your getting into.

Ive defiantly been doing research for over a month. I know what care they require and that they get quite large. Just cant find much on taming. From what I can see they are fairly docile. But ive also read a mean one cant be Tammed? ?

From my experience with my red tails personally they are only aggressive when "hunting." If you "break the hunt." You'll be fine handling them majority of the time regular handlings help with the more skittish red tails but I can't say it makes them "tame."

No snake is going to be "tamed" But yes for the most part they take well to being handled. That being said, every snake has it's own personality some are just jerks for no reason. Most likely that snake will calm down as it grows.

Well maybe my phrasing was a little off. But thank you for the response. Ill have to work with her I guess and hope for the best.

I have two a 6 yr old female and a may 2014baby male and are my favorite.... i just moved 7 hours away and for the first two weeks he would strike like no other he taged me in the face once while sliding in his tub in th rack and on the hand alot but once he got settled back in he has been great since. I think stress is the biggesst factor no matter what cause it. They are great snakes my female is my travle snake she loves being out and about and has never even hissed at me. Took here to a kid conservation day at a local free zoo that had no reptiles and she did great. Docile and tolerant of handling are the typical terms, but for the sake of your point, they do "tame down" with handling and age. The young boas can be extremely defensive because they are rather scared of the world. My coastal carpet python has bitten me 3 times. She's just a couple clicks over a year old. My BCI has bitten me once during a feeding mistake, but when he was younger, he'd strike out, I just never ended up in his path.
For the most part, BC's are an easy keep, but as mentioned they all have their individual traits. If you get one that is forever intolerant of human interaction, you'll have your hands full.
BCI boas tend to be more docile as a whole, and when I say BCI, I refer to the mainland Colombian BCI boas. The island BCI boas are somewhat irritable in general as they are smaller and have more predators, but again every snake has its own mojo.
BCC's are actually the "true red tails" BCI boa's are not supposed to be referred to as "red tails", and really, the term is more of a selling point than a descriptive term for any certain type.
I think the price for what you are looking at is excellent, and the boa is nice looking.
Go for it if you are prepared!

I have 1.2 Tarahumara BCI's and they have definite "Taratude". It's not aggressive behavior, it's defensive behavior: they are small snakes, they will stay small, and we are big predators. They do tame down with gentle and consistent handling, but it takes a lot more work than getting a typical mainland BCI to settle.

Yes knock on wood lol. But im doing some shopping may not get this particular one. I know may get tagged a couple times regardless but I do plan to give time to settle to any that I get. I found a 1.5 yr old that I may check out as well.
