Brought this little girl home from the NARBC show in Tinley Park today. Her name is Amazon and she's from Kathy Love:

Thanks guys! It may be my final addition to my collection, and I figured what better way to finish it off than with a Love line snake. And if you're going to get an Okeetee, you should really get a love okeetee. She actually picked it out for me since she can better tell how they'll look as adults. Can't wait to see how her colors turn out. I made the 3 1/2 hour drive to the show with the sole purpose of getting an okeetee from her - but of course I picked up some other things (shirts, branches, cage, etc). I had a great time.

Yeah, I think it was her table that had the bright red, orange and white corn I was entranced with for a couple of hours and nearly took home. The new addition looks great :)

Thanks everyone! I'm so happy I finally got her.

I know what you mean Robert - I said I was done about 4 snakes ago! For now I think I'm going to focus on getting all their permanant/larger cages together for when they're ready. And then if I want more I'll let myself. With the way I plan to do the cages, I kind of don't have any more room (or money for any more cages). I plan to buy boaphile cages and I've gotta pay for those for now. Although....technically I do have an empty tub in my rack......and I'll soon have an empty 10 gallon.......:)

A male Kenyan Sand boa would be great in a 10 gallon.......(attempting to contribute to the herp addiction of another)....

*gasp!* empty tanks! unacceptable! i just filled my empty 10 gallon with a pair of red eyed tree frogs. but that is just temporary until i have gotten a good look at their feces and they seem healthy and ready to go into their nice tall 30 gallon. it is nice though to keep at least one empty tank around for any emergency situation that could arise should you come home from the petstore one day with something that might need a place to stay for a while. :D

I know! I can't believe they start out this small. She's the smallest I've had yet. Hard to imagine she can even get a pinky down!

I'd be worried about her getting a pinky down, but then I'm always worried about the babies eating. :) In another month and a half or so I'll (hopefully) have tiny cresties to worry over. How is she with handling so far? Jumpy, or easy enough to hold on to?

So far she's very sweet and docile. She did rattle a bit (so cute) yesterday, but didn't jump or anything as I picked her up. She's so little it's kinda hard to pick her up!

I would think so! How are you picking her up, just by hand? I'd almost be inclined to use a mini-hook or something just to get her high enough to get my hand under easily. And it turns out you have a Love line "rattlesnake". ;)

LOL. I don't even know if a mini hook would be small enough - I'd need like a paper clip! I'm just picking her up by hand. The one time she rattled I had removed her hide from off top of her. My snow corn rattled once but never again - I had also removed his hide off top of him that time as well. My Cal King, however, is my true rattlesnake (she's gotten tons better). Not only does she do rattlesnake imitations, but she also does a Cobra imitation.

A paperclip -- the herper's mini-mini-hook! LOL. It's funny when they try to scare you off with their imitations, like when a little dog stands up on its back legs to bark at you and look bigger or when a beardie puffs up.

 There are people who don't love animals?!
It's like a revelation to me every time I have to recognize that again.

As far as i know Kathy LOVE is the breeder she got her corn from.

I only knew that becuase i saw a little add in one of the Reptiles Magazine i was reading the other day.

I hear that somebody over here works for them and plans to adopt one of the ball pythons i was looking at from the rescue, so thats kinda cool.............i guess.

Yep - Love line means from Kathy and Bill love. I figured if I'm going to get an okeetee best bet is to get one from them.
