Just need positive thoughts/prayers

My wife is currently pregnant with twins and is at 29 weeks and 5 days. Well last night we rushed her to the er and she was in preterm labor. They put her on magnesium and fluids and all that. As of about 20 minutes ago she was taken off all that because the labor had stopped but she is not allowed to leave for 4 weeks or the babies are born whichever comes first. I am home with our 2 year old son. She us very depressed as am I. We really could use some prayers or positive thoughts. Thank you all

The labor has been stopped as of right now which is great. But she will not be allowed to leave until she gives birth now... So one positive and one negative. Babies are doing good right now as well.

I like the names too!

The hardest part for me right now is our 2 year old literally begging for his mommy and he can't see her at all. He also knows she is in the hospital and will not accept any other explanation of why she is gone. I feel so bad for him because he just doesn't understand.

That is hard. Is there a reason he can't see her? Hospital policy or what?

It is because I work on average 14 hours day and he can.only go in with me which would only be on weekends.

Oh just to add more on top of everything tomorrow is her birthday...

Just an update. Based off of measurements the babies are both at 2lbs 4oz. My wife is dilated to 4cm and if she gets to 6 she will have an emergency c section. Every day she has tests done to monitor the babies and all that and they look great so far.

I dont sugarcoat crap but let me Tell you from First Hand Knowledge, this situation will be what you make of it. You have ONE Job that emcompasses a few things.

1- You are your wifes strength. You become fragile, she will become the same and her mental will affect physical

2- You are the warrior that will have to be all over hospital staff

3 - When your kids come you feed them your energy..

How do I know. My very active 6 year old was born at day 169. Exactly the 1st day of the 25th week. He was 1lb 12 oz. I slept under his incubator for 3 days straight. He was taken off of a respirator the morning of the 3rd day cause he was breathing on his own. (YES 3rd day) He had one minor surgery to close the flap that usually closes with the first cry. He is an absolute pleasure and terror.

So I am not gonna tell you it will be ok and hugs and kisses... I am gonna tell you its time to get on your game. Ill pray for you and your family but YOU have to make the situation what you want it.

I want to thank everyone for the kind words and support as well as the advice. When the twins are born I will be sharing pics here with all of you.

Another update. She is 60% effaced, thinning of the cervix, so the time is coming very soon.

I'm amused how you described your twins as 1.1 :p

I hope everything goes well. From what I understand, twins ARE usually born before full term and are generally smaller than one baby births.

Congratulations on getting one of each gender though! Please keep us updated.

Yes twins usually come between 30-37 weeks on average so we are in the safeish zone but 34 weeks is way better and that is what we are shooting for.

Ok she had an ultrasound today and both babies are head down.

That's fantastic! Definitely keep us posted! Congrats BTW on the kids 😊

So far so good. She will be checked tomorrow, wednesday, and if there have been no changes she will be able to come home. Babies are still cooking which is a great thing.

She has been released and is now home and happy to not have to eat hospital food any longer.

Praying for all 5 of you! I am at home with a sick 4 month atm. Bring her things to the hospital to keep her mind and hands busy and to keep her smiling and maybe surprise her with flowers! I am sure she will appreciate any small thing you do for her!:D

So we just got word earlier today from the high risk specialist that labor will be induced in 3 weeks unless she gives birth by then

Well tuesday is the day my wife will be induced.

I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers! Hopefully on tuesday you two will be the parents of two healthy children:)

THEY ARE ADORABLE!!!!! I'm so happy for you, literally got chills when I saw they were born healthy!

They came very fast. They broke her water and said when she started to feel contractions to let them know and she would get the epidural. She let them know 5 minutes later and about 5 minutes after that Orion came out. Then Hadley came out breech all before the epidural had a chance to kick in. Now today they got checked up again and will be coming home in a few hours.

Is your wife doing okay as well?

She is great. I just got them all home from the hospital and they are meeting their big brother who already adores them.

I would say you have 3 positives (2 healthy babies/1 healthy wife), and 1 negative (she cant go home). I would say things are pretty good right now. I wish the best for all of you.

All are home including my beautiful wife.

For the first time both babies are sleeping and we can relax. Our oldest, 2 years old, has been a huge help and is the only one who can sooth his little sister. He also has to know where they are at all times. I can not believe how blessed I am with my family.

Now I would like to say thank you all for the support and prayers and advice.
