    Light coloured bumble bee.
I just wanted some opinions on this male bumble bee ball pythons colours, is this lighter than an average bumble bee ball python? He looks very pale yellow, almost white. He was hatched July 30th 2014 and is around 91 grams. The pairing was killer bee male/normal female. I had 6 bees and 8 pastels hatch out and this guy is much lighter than the rest. This was my first season breeding so I don't have allot of experience.

I've attached some photos, hopefully the URL works.. Also have a photo comparing the light male bee to my other bumble bee.

Could the normal maybe have had some het bumble? Sorry if that's a dumb question lol I'm still getting used to all of the het and homo and that kind of stuff

It's not het for bumble lol. It is a nice Bumblebee though. There is so much variance when it comes to ball pythons so don't be surprised when you see differences like that. You should be happy though, he is very nice!

Thanks, I'm just trying to decide if I should hold him back, but I don't really need a male bee since I have the killer bee male . I was thinking of maybe breeding him back to the female normal to see if anything else shows up.

I like him. I would say that Mike Wilbanks seems to produce some really light colored morphs like that. Either that or his website/pictures make all his snakes look kind of white. I'd only keep him back as a breeder if you want to see if he can pass on the light coloration. I doubt it's a single gene causing that also. I wouldn't say that it's better then your other bee just different so it totally depends on what you're going for in my opinion. Very interesting though, makes me wonder some things.

Thanks for your comments, I'll probably end up selling him. Hopefully I can sell him to somebody I know so they can send me pics of when he's older and has more size, I'm just curious to see how his colours will change with size.
