    Snakems
This is my new Lesser I picked up at the Portland reptile expo on aug 23rd from the Tropical Hut. He’s my second ball python but my first morph. My other ball is a 13 year old normal. I was thinking of naming him Tytos because his coloring kind of reminds me of barn owls but my boyfriend is insisting I name him Snakems to match my other snakes name Snakey (I was in middle school when I got him).

Here he is the day I got him.

Here he is today being a computer geek.

He’s a bit weird. I always have fresh water in his enclosure but whenever I get done handing him and put him back he decides to drink water, even if my hand is still in the cage. Anyone elses snakes do this?

Hooray! Glad to see more support for the Tropical Hut. That makes three of us this month at least. I wonder if your snake and Norman No-Feet are brothers!

BTW, I'm a big fan of the name Tytos. EXCELLENT choice. Stick to your guns, your BF can call him "Snakems" as a nickname if he wants. That, or Snakems could Tytos' last name! ;D

That's what I was thinking! I kept his card with the mother and father on it so maybe we could compare.

I think maybe they're half brothers. The Tropical Hut posts pictures of its new clutches on Facebook so I did a bit of digging to see if I could find Tytos/Snakems. I believe I found him here on the bottom. I did a bit of pattern matching.

So according to the paper on Norman's bin you posted a picture of both of their dads are a lesserbee. Could be the same one.

Just for fun I found Norman's baby picture. He's the one on the right.

Ridiculous! You got 2 yawn pics and a "hanging periscope" pic since getting him? Some of us only dream of getting yawn pics.
    /jealous ;)

Great pics, keep them coming. :gj: :gj::)

These pics are so cute. Btw, my snake will drink after I handle him, he'll even drink from the water dish while I'm holding him :D

Thanks everyone. Snakems is very calm but curious so he makes a great photo subject.

Not great photos this time, I just wanted to document a bit of his nighttime escapades. I don't think he understands that he's not supposed to be a tree snake.

Thought maybe I'd get better pictures if I turned the cage lights off and opened the doors.

But with the cage doors open he wanted to climb out onto me like he always does. I don't know if this means he likes being handled or if he's just a very curious snake.

Its really interesting to me how his color changes when he gets close to a shed. You can tell from the images in my last post above how dark he is and that is before his belly turned pink or his eyes got cloudy. Maybe a week or so before he shed. Here he is more recently a few weeks after the shed.

Makes me happy to see all the lesser love in here. Such a pretty morph. I remember first reading about it years and years ago when they were super expensive and thanking how awesome it would be to have one someday.

Athena is so pretty and bright! It'll be awesome to see how her colors change as she grows. I know I'm looking forward to seeing if/how Snakems colors change.

With this guy it isn't too hard to get yawn pictures because he'll be cruising around and then just pause for like 2 seconds before yawning. I've even made a gif out of him yawning one time.
