ooooooh so excited.. we began operation herp room today! switched my room around completely and got rid of a few things. we're almost ready for the little bugger! heh

all we have to do is build the racks, which my dad can easily do throughout the week. eventually, as we get more snakes, we'll be taking the big book shelf out of my room. but for now, it stays.

heres what my room looks like now (sry, no b4 and after pics. i deleted them):

moved my bed, got rid of my bunk bed...

moved the puter to another side of the room

opening from the blue room to the soon-to-be herp room

the book shelf that will eventually be moved

heres where one of the racks will go once my dads done building it :)

just cuz Pandora was my first snake ever and she'll always be the best, she will never get placed in a rack or a rubbermaid. i'm definately always showing her off. :)

hehe yes, i have lots of posters. i have this thing where if walls are blank, i get drpessed. hence my very COLORFUL poster-filled room. mmmm eminem is hot lol

my parents are both supportive. my mom helped me move all the stuff around yesterday and my dad took apart my bunk bed and drilled another hole in my ceiling for the hammock :)

hes gotta move a few shelves and make the racks, but after that we'll be done!!

my parents are cool when they wanna be. :)

p.s.... they're also so supportive because every single thing for my snakes is coming out of MY pocket, not theirs. :?

It's not childish at all! Forget anyone that thinks so! Don't change who you are because of other people's opinions, you gotta form your own and be happy with it!!! 8)

Angela, that is really cool that you are gonna have your own snake room....it is good to see a young woman that is into herps - it helps break down the stereotypical image of women being afraid of snakes..snakes are the coolest I think. I wish I could do the herp room thing but I am a "closet herper" in other words I have to be sneaky and surreptious about my hobby because I am living in an apartment here in Los Angeles. All my herps are in my closet where they can be hidden at a moments notice if the Mngmt were ever to come into my apartment which is something they have been known to do from time to time...

Update on new BP!.. First Shed.
Oh I love my snakes too....they are my buddies out here in L.A. - Ball Pythons are really the most docile and tractable snakes that I have ever dealt with ( aside from my corn snake ) my big female Trinity is like a big stuffed snake toy, she is so easygoing and mellow. The only one I have to treat more respectfully is Apok, who is wont to hiss from time to time and he even nailed me once. That is okay though because he was all upset from being brought home from the reptile store and I forgave him for lashing out at me.I am glad to see that you are really getting a lot out of your reptile hobby !!!!!!!!

It's great that you love snakes, but I hope those are "air kisses" for your safety. Ball pythons may be very docile, but they'll still pass you salmonella or bacteria even if they don't bite. Safety first. :)

doctor: ok well this sounds like a classic case of salmonella poisoning. have you possibly eaten any undercooked meat in the last day or so?

angela: hmmm, no but i have been kissing my python a lot lately.

    doctor: ..... um, yeeeeeeah.

seriously though, i have the urge every now and then to kiss nellie when she's being really cute or something, but then i think, eeew salmonella. it sounds weird that you would want to kiss a snake in the same way that you would kiss your dog or cat, but it's the same kind of affection that you are feeling now isn't it?
