Temp gun got messed up

Is there any way i can i fix it it shows a crazy high reading or should i just buy another one?

Did you try fresh batteries?

Are you sure it's the temp gun and not your heat source or controller that failed?

Yeah i bought two different batteries and it still didnt work

Does it show the same temperature no matter what spot you check in the enclosure?

I second double checking the heat source to make sure there wasn't a thermostat failure. Does it feel hot to you? If it feels really warm, it may be too hot.

Read a few reviews saying they were accurate

Ya those are accurate but I have a hard time constantly moving them around. I basically only like the expensive heat lasers that you can shoot across the room. They are accurate and have a really fast response. The one that you just bought does work well though you will just have to move the probe around the tank to check temps.

Yeah i rather have laser guns than the probes so much easier to use

What temp gun is it? I messed mine up and had the same problem. I went online and found instruction manual and it showed me how to fix it.

Go to Home Depot. They sell a Ryobi temp gun for like 14$ I use that all the time and they are accurate as hell. Consistently reads 98 degrees on my body
