    Columbian redtailed boa morph?
Hello I got this pretty little girl/guy at the reptile show today and she was in the container with another boa and I don't remember what was on the container in all the excitement lol so I was just wondering if you could tell by looking is she just a normal columian redtailed morph? (Obviously I know you won't know if she's het for anything) I am always bad at morphs with most reptiles bc so many look alike to me lol anyway she is very docile and outgoing and she ate already. Here are a few pics let me know what you think :)

    Nice, and hello.

Your question is a bit confusing, but if you are asking if it is a morph, the answer is very likely, no. If you are asking if it is a normal Colombian boa, the answer is, very likely yes.

There is no such thing as a "normal morph". Morphs are variations from the norm. Some are VERY extreme, and some are quite subtle.

It looks very young, and there will be a fair amount of coloring up as it ages.

If you were told if was a morph, or paid more than what is typical for a normal BCI, you should try to contact the breeder. Usually those reptile shows are 2 day events so you could return tomorrow for more info.

Or,,,,, see what Evenstar thinks right here on in the forum. Chances are she's seen/heard about most of the morphs out there.

In any event, you scored a boa today and that's what counts.

Looks like a normal to me, and as stated above there is no such thing as a "normal morph" they are either a normal, or a morph..Looks like a good snake though :gj:

Oops sorry I'm new to boas and I've not done a whole lot of research on the different locales or morphs(or what they're called) I've just been focusing on their care for now :) I was just wondering if she was just a normal columbian red tail and you have answered my question :) I didn't pay much for him/her she? Was $45 which seemed like a good price to me? Lol compared to the morphed varieties and everything lol
thank you for answering my question

I also hope it wasn't an impulse buy, and you did your homework beforehand, and that you know you will have an 8-10 ft snake in a few years.

Normal BCI, $45 is a good price for her assuming she's healthy, I've seen normal males priced higher.

Very cute and very fair at $45! And just a heads up: no such thing as a Columbian Red Tail BCI - spelled "Colombian" and these guys aren't considered "true" red tails like the BCC boas (Peruvians, Suris, Guyanas, etc) :gj:

I agree with both Gio and Daybreaker. Sound assessment from Gio and I was going to add just what Daybreaker did.

Very nice normal Colombian boa. If she has a sweet personality, you will enjoy her for years to come!

Ah ok that parts all very confusing to me lol the different locales and everything and they're all in the same common name group? So she would be called a Colombian boa not a Colombian red tail boa!? Lol I'm sorry I just do not get the different categories I will def have to read up more on the differences!

And so far she is amazing she very inquisitive and very interested in anything I'm doing near the cage or when I was going I to the cage to rearrange something( trying not to mess w her too much) but she comes right over and inspects my hand and whatever I'm doing! Sooooo much different than my ball python or my hognose! If my bp was coming over giving me the stare down like that it would be because she would be about to strike it's so much differnt with the boa bc she seems genuinely interested in whatever I'm doing and wants to check out what I'm doing she's very friendly and very take she is not head why at all lets me pet her right on the head
its so cute and I love her already <3 it's really hard not to mess with her lol
