    Paint Color for Snake Room
I'm in the process of having my basement finished and I've secured a dedicated snake room down there (Score!). My wife has given me the task of selecting the paint colors for the snake room (and the exercise room but that's already going to be GT gold. GO JACKETS!)

So I'm hoping to get some suggestions on paint color. I'm limited to a single color but otherwise it's wide open. Any ideas?

I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished space when it's all done.

I always go for greys to match my visions and it goes well with my black cages too, but I'm boring like that. I am in the process of converting my garage into a reptile room and thats the color I am going with. They are currently in my office which is tan...

I went with a nice dark gray. If I remember right it's called "Legendary Gray" by Dunn Edwards. There's nothing boring about gray and it looks great in there with my black racks!

    Mostly racks or any terrariums?

Pretty much 100% racks. I've got some other caging that I've had for years but they aren't in use and going forward it'll all be racks.

Grey is a strong candidate. It just goes well in a basement. My son found one from Glidden I think called Zeppelin which was a nice darker grey.

Ok because that would have changed the answer big time lol. With racks grey would be cool I guess. I like the idea of black too.

I would probably go with a darker grey although all of my bedrooms that I can remember painting have all been some shade of grey lol

Id go with something bright. A basement snake room loaded with racks is going to look really dark no matter what. But grey will absorb whatever light there is, making it worse. If you put a bright color on the walls it will make the whole room seem brighter.

White's not enough fun. :) I'm not too worried about cleaning the walls. If the snakes start making a mess of the walls I've got bigger problems :)

I agree with this, even though I know the snakes like it dark the rack is already dark enough for them so if I was painting a snake room, (and this is just my personal opinion) my favorite color is blue all shades, I'd paint it some shade of a light blue color like sky, or even baby lol. Especially since my snakes are my babies, or even a yellow or green whatever colors you like. I'd just do some kind of lively color to really brighten the room. [emoji4] but hey I can't knock grey most of my clothes are grey, white, and black soooo I do love those colors too.

Oh and also darker colors make rooms look smaller, but if you brighten it up it will look like you can fit a lot more stuff inside lol [emoji12]

For me it would depend on what color the racks were and what kind of furniture was in there. Will you have a sink? What color sink if you have one? What kind of decorations will be in the room and how tall are the racks? Is it carpet, laminate or wood flooring?

If you want to encourage your family (children at least) to go down there some earthy tones would be nice with a white sink.

Or you can go modern and go white walls, black racks, black sink and colorful furniture (chairs or couches).
