    Something New: Meet the Z!
It's a new morph! Been working on this a while, but I think I have something cool, especially with the super form. What do you think?

    A baby Z:

    Baby Lesser Z from 2014:

    A Lesser Z from 2012:

    Citrus Pastel Z:

Two Citrus Pastel Lesser Platinum Zs, one from 2012 and the other from 2014:

Here's the Super Z, maybe with Lesser Platinum thrown in there too:

Looks like I've got a few more pairings to make. :)

I like the super form the most reminds me of the digital camo patterns.

What is the background on this morph looks like you have been working with it for a while now?

Thanks! I started with an unusual looking captive hatched female in 2008. In 2012, it looked like she reproduced herself in 4 of 5 babies. I bred her to one of her offspring this last season and hit on a super, among others.

Thanks, Dave. Several people have commented that my super reminds them of a baby you produced. Do you have any updates?

I can see why people say that but I still think they look pretty different.

Thanks!! It hatched randomly from a pastel special x super mojave breeding. He didn't breed for me this season but I'm not surprised as he hatched in October. The parents have been breeding but I don't think she is going to go.

Love the Super Z, it looks like you could read it. It also makes me think of a Navajo blanket though I like the other suggestion that it looks like digital camouflage too.

Hope you figure out the recipe for that snake soon. We need more of those in the world!

Thanks! I've got plans to brighten the color and mix in some other morphs to see what happens to the pattern, and along the way I need to try to reproduce the Super Z, especially since I think there is lesser platinum mixed into the one I've produced so far. Time will tell, and hopefully the odds gods will be kind.

I saw an ad on kingsnake for an odd looking captive hatched baby and jumped on it. That was in 2008 when I was expanding my collection with dinkers.

Great idea! I just don't have any leopards. :( I will be mixing the Z with some other morphs though this season, and I do have a captive hatched female that looks like the coolest leopard ever. I may mix her into the project only because her intended has failed in his efforts for a few years in a row now. Keep those ideas coming!

well if you have an female Z you could always get an leopard, they arent that expansive anymore

but i can understand you first wanna mess around with some of the gene's you already have ofc :) maybe it would look like crap when crossed with a leopard haha

If you havent seen the snakes Maki has been producing you are missing out. I met her at the SD reptile expo with the absolute perfect examples of each morphs. I email her weekly to get a jump on what hatches. Amazing quality and detail...

well no, i haven't seen alot of it.... just been here on the forum for a month orso.

and i live in the netherlands (holland) in europe, oh how i sometimes wish i lived in the states..... the prices are better (big american breeders come to holland and sell an morph that costs 400 dollar in the us for 400euro here in holland (400 euro is +/- 530 dollar) + way more reptile keepers to get to know and share thoughts and visit to see eachothers collections.
